West Coast SX Saturday night, race Sunday morning. Watch live or replay?

The only bad thing about these early season west coast rounds is staying up late on race nights.

I race a Hare Scramble at 10:30 on Sunday morning here in Florida and probably won't be back home until 5:00pm Sunday. Do you wait and hope to not hear the results to watch, stay up way too late Saturday or find out results Sunday morning? The saving grace of staying up to watch is I will be staying 10 minutes from the track.

I always DVR.

Then watch first thing Sunday morning, fast forwarding right up to the gate drops.

You can never stay away from the result at the track.

Some1 always says woohoo rider x won. Or this rider ate shit. And watching a replay knowing the result sucks.

For example the Kenny and webb race when deano got in the way. If you know webb is going to win. The excitement factor of the battle is gone.

I won't watch racing live anymore.      This way I can just fast forward thru the bullshit.    Cuts it down to just the important stuff....which is racing.

No way you’re going to avoid the results of A1 the following day at a dirt bike race.

Suck it up ol fruit. Us bastards across the pond have it way worse if we watch it live. I'll sit up all night if I have to.

I would go to bed early and get up really early to watch before you leave for the race.  Not only can you FF through all the downtime, but it will get you fired up for your own race.

Haha

If going to bed early and getting up early was a physical option, I wouldn't have made the thread. Not the best morning guy to say the least.

My vote is make sure you get as close to 8 hours of sleep as you can tonight and tomorrow and watch it live. I never sleep well the night before a race anyway.

Well, I almost got 4 hours last night so that plan is out the window. lol

I'm with you though, I sleep horrible on race nights. I'll take melatonin at the start of the race and hopefully crash 5 minutes after the neck burn. haha

Hare Scramble at 10:30? Do you have practice time Saturday or do you race the track blind?

I'd prepare for my race personally and watch the race later. I enjoy actually riding more than watching people race. Although, I will watch the race and enjoy it whether I know who wins or not. I've been able to go race and tell people not to tell me what happened in the past, but it works sometimes and sometimes doesn't.

Practice is Sunday morning 8:30 - 9:30 but I generally race it blind. Practice, we don't need no stinking practice.

I watch a lot of "sportsball", but almost never live.  I can watch a 4 hour football game in less than 2 hours on DVR.  Way too much going on in life to stop down for 4-8 hours of TV on a Saturday or Sunday unless we're hosting a party or something.  Same for SX.  I may take in the pomp and circumstance for A1, but usually I watch an entire race about 1.5 hours early Sunday morning.

I don't watch ball sports for two reasons.

a. They bore me to death

b. Don't need to be preached at with all the woke BS.

I find my sleep schedule to important to stay up and watch them, when I can just get up at my regular time (5:30) and watch the recording. Fast forward through all the bs I don’t care about is also a big plus for me. I started doing this years ago when I was woke up to many times by Ralph screaming the name of the winner. East coast or central time zone where I’m located is completely different. Also, it’s important to avoid all moto related sights prior to watching, no social media for me so I don’t have to worry about that aspect.
