He was spot on! All of team Honda should be in fear of their jobs. I do admire Shorty, see Millsaps tallent, but come on! I have watched Short, Sauce and Millsaps fade all year long. Open up a spot for a full bore privateer!
You admire Shorty, and see Millsap's talent; yet you have no respect for the guy on the red team that won an overall this year? I would way rather hire some guys that can win rather than hire a privateer to get my bike into the top 10 instead of the top 20.

Short and Tedesco got 2nd and 3rd in the series. Why does everyone attack the Honda guys? Why aren't you talking shit about Tim Ferry, Josh Hill, Broc Hepler, Ryan Villopoto, Michael Byrne, or Mike Alessi? Last time I checked Short and Tedesco, probably Millsaps finished better in the series than those guys. Last time I checked Tedesco won a couple motos and had a race win, most those guys didn't. Last time I checked Millsaps won a moto, most of those guys didn't. Last time I checked, you're an idiot.

And yea, Bailey is entitled to his opinion even though I disagree with it. He can bag on anyone and it's okay, it gives us something to talk about and debate. I hope he continues to do so.

1st, NO!
2nd, what's a privateer anyway nowadays?
Sure I know, but the term privateer is different these days.
Face it, it is...........
I'm pumped for Tommy Hahn & his team too.
But face it, that bike, his 450, is every bit as good as the
Factory 450's.
Motor
Chassis & suspension
Hardware too
He showed us all that thru the whole series.
For me no surprise at all.

Dude , look at the DL list ..........They are not worth what they get paid , nor will any of them ever win a title .....This was there chance to get some wins with the best riders either hurt or not racing and they couldnt even hardy do that....They need to kick there ass to the curb and get some winners . They are not going to get any faster and there are to many riders out there that are faster than them and riders moving up that are faster... they had there chance and I HIGHLY doubt there will be another..

SHORT, MUDFLAPS and Ivan should be shit canned ...
If the definition of who's worthy of being a factory rider is based purely on who's going to win, then there are only 9 450 riders this year worthy of being factory riders. Villopoto, Alessi, Tedesco, Grant, Reed, Goerke, Millsaps, Hahn, and Brayton.

Who should big H have hired instead for the 09 season? Out of that group, only Goerke wasn't a factory rider (or likely better than factory -JGR). Not to take anything away from 9, 18, and 29, but who was available that would have been a better choice? They're all solid riders with good potential to win, show or place.

The Honda boys had this season handed to them on a silver platter. What did they do with it?

Ivan is a really nice guy. He also stands a chance of getting very exposed soon at the MXDN. I hope he does well, but I ain't holding my breath.

Millsaps had a few great motos this year. Where the hell was he the rest of the season.

And all you guys that are talking about the riders being "injures" or "hurt"... DB won the 83 SX title while breaking his foot mid season. He wanted it.

Who on the current Honda team can you honesty say "wants it"?

I could pass many riders on this site riding a 1981 Rm465 without any problem, you dont need all that bling bling! The Full Floater was a Secret Weapon.

With the 250f riders getting bumped up now, the days of half assing it are over. Milsaps,IT and Short have stolen there last pay checks. There will be no more dicking around waiting for the feild to get hurt so they can get on the box. All three of those guys are 5-10th place riders with ZERO potential to win with the gate that started the season.

The 450 class seems to be more of a 'riders market' this year, yes AS + IV came in 2nd and 3rd, but I don't think they'd have done the same in the 250's - speaking hypothetically of course. Can't wait to see more of the really outstanding talent filter through the ranks, be nice to see Bubba have more company that just Reed.. Now wish CP was moving up.. Imagine the 450's with RD + CP in the mix, with a healthy RV + MA!! And maybe Bubba. Will be a riot.

Alot of people want to write off old riders or old Football players? What about Bret Farve, He was just signed to a $13,000,000 million contract and if he goes to the second year will be $$20,000,000! We old people are alive and well and making alot of money P.S.

You really have to listen to what Bailey said.

He said if he was one of those riders he would be embarrassed.

that is his job to give his opinion and add color to the race.

Bailey has won both in and out of that chair I respect his right to say what he did.

Hire Dowd for Southwick? Sure, that'd be a safe bet for a replacement ride. He flies in the sand. But at lots of other places he might look like a 44-year-old former factory rider.

I respect Baileys opinion because he has been there, but for people that have never raced a national to putthem down is hard for me to swallow. If you get a bad start and your a second a lap faster then the guy in front of you, he is going to be hard to get around, and as you get closer to the front it becomes harder to pass.

Everyone in the top 10 run within a second of eacxh other, so if youre 3 or 4 seconds behind a guy who youre 1 second faster then its going to take about 4 laps to catch him, then another 2 to pass him.

Depite popular belief, its not easy racing a national, they are not all stewart, they are not all 3 seconds faster then fourth place. They cant all start out last and be in first in 5 laps.

To down play Tommy Hahns results is BS, the kid is FAAAAAAAAST and his bike is every bit as good as any factory bike out there. Honda should do some homework, yes, but dont take anything away from Hahn, its been along time coming.

I get so tired of hearing the argument that "If you haven't raced at that level, you just don't know."

Granted, I have absofugginloutely no idea what it takes to race at that level. And for sure, these factory guys surely don't have to answer to me, you or any of the other people on this board. But, what I just cannot fathom is how these dudes turn up back at the rig after these half assed rides and expect the level of commitment THEY need to compete from the team around them, if they are not putting in the work themselves or lack the desire all together.

Just maybe, if these guys were paid (salary-wise) based on their results, like golf, there would be a lot more hard work going on during the week instead of tummy aches and other bullshit...Didn't RC used to literally crap his pants during races (From IBS)? Guess what, he still kicked everyone else's asses. That's not talent - that is desire.

You say you want people in the industry to be more upfront and honest, rather than being wishy-washy or silent on things, and when someone speaks their mind, you give him shit for it.

Honda would be better off paying 118 & 29 of and giving their bikes to JGR or Ganassi.
