I have no problem. He said he didn’t have the pegs mounted the way you said he did and you don’t believe him. Your the one with the problem.
I got no dog in this fight; nor do I want to add to the tension, but there is some confusion to me.
If holes 1-3 or 2-4 are the correct mountings, then why by the pics are holes 1-2 threaded and holes 3-4 look unused (unthreaded)?
Confused, can see what MxAddic is saying, he is going by the pics and has sort of been attacked when maybe he was actually trying to help?
If the pegs are mounted correct (either holes 1-3 or 2-4) surely holes 3 or 4 should have been used and would have some threading marks?
Flame on!! ?
Surely the idea is to solve the technical problem rather than get nasty!? Which I'm sure was the original intentions of all.
If mounted correctly, as described(1-3 or 2-4 config), then either 3 or 4 should have been used and have a visible thread?
Holes 3-4 look unused to me, no thread marks- just going by the pics.
Why would I believe him when the picture he posted shows he clearly had been using the top 2 holes? Your being here shows you have a problem. Maybe you just don't want it to be user error and instead a black eye for Kawasaki? Maybe your trolling me? The frame was broken. What more proof do you need? Bottom line when you do stupid shit and post on the internet asking what others know about it and it don't work out maybe next time you won't.
2 different sets of hardware between holes 1/2 & 3/4. The threads on 3/4 are recessed further into the frame. It's impossible to mount using just 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 because of the spacing between them and the differences in hardware. Well, maybe not impossible, but it would require someone to purchase a 2nd set of hardware for hole 2. If you mount the pegs to hole 1, the only other mounting point for the lower bolt on the peg mount is 3. If using 2, then the only other hole would be 4. You can clearly tell the OP used 1 & 3 as the threads on #2 are full of debris and #1 is clean.

Yes, I get the different size bolts etc, just couldn't see any threads but as said maybe they just were not visible by the angle of the picture and are recessed as explained.
Wonder how many other bikes, other than this Kawi have cracked at that frame position or similar? I guess there could be alot of force/ impact transference at that given point, especially when belting jumps and landing. I guess though the manufacturers are more than aware though of this and make the frames strong enough to take it generally, in most instances that is.
I can tell you that it is unequivocally factual that the design engineers as well as quality and simulation engineers are running multiple stress tests on their frames during design, afterwards and prior to production. Then they even test them prior to final product release to manufacturing during the prototyping phase of the product's lifecycle. Do errors make it past all of those eyes and all of that FEA analysis? Sure, but more often than not it is found and rectified prior to final production. There's a reason they have two sets of holes that are two different sizes with two different pieces of mounting hardware. I find it very hard to believe the OP used hole 1 & 2.
Yes- my last post I am not really referring to as to whether the OP used holes 1 or 2 and I am understanding the points people are making.
I was more really just enquiring as to if people have seen other bikes that have cracked/ failed at that frame/ footpeg point, Kawi or other, rather than questioning the mounting positions that were or were not used.
You will notice with the pegs mounted correctly the bottom holes are supported by a cross member. When the top two are used not so much.
