How bout not grooming the track like a highway for the boys. My 30+ slow ass dont ride the track groomed and neither should they. I am always amazed every year at the national looking at the whoops that are barely there. I think i remember way way back them leaving the track ungroomed from the previous weeks races. Either way, Bring it on and GO DOWDY GO!!!!!!! and good luck to the rest of the New Englanders.

A few years back, when RC was still racing, we were at SW a few days early and the word among the workers was the AMA told them to leave it untouched after the previous weekend, when 750+ amateurs beat the crap out of the sand!
Well, by Friday evening, the crew was told to prep the track for the Pros.Angry DC was there on that Thursday taking sand riding lessons with JD....that was cool!

I thought it was 1999 but yeap, it was 1998! I'm trying to find video of that race on YouTube or just clips of it with RC and such. I remember RC swapping with feet off the pegs down a hill and saving it all the way down as usual.

Not Really. It's not like septic system sand or a soft white sand. This stuff is a Long Island Sound type of Cocoa/Brownish Loamy sand. In the early years, it wasn't a hard base beneath, but today it is. I hope the track doesn't get groomed. With this rain, the track for the second motos will be one huge whoop section. The first motos will look like these pros are flying through the downhill and struggling through the soppy wet stuff at the bottom. There won't be enough water in Mass. to powerwash the bikes between motos. It's tough coming off.
