There’s a decent difference between the materials and cuts of gear you’re seeing listed on alibaba and what gear companies are actually ordering and which factory they’re ordering from.

These days the more expensive gear tends to be the more marketed gear and stuff that changes up the fit every year. Like others have said , the racers pay that wear the gear, the reps that sell the gear, the warehouses to store the gear, the shipping to send it out to the dealer or end user, the potential returns that are unsellable, liability insurance , the designers who design and prototype the gear, the research into materials and improving the gear. So many other things go into the price of a product beyond the cost to make the end item. Yes , you might be able to get a knock off set of gear for $24.99 from a factory that made the original gear and had all of the work done for them so all they had to do was print , cut and sew . But for new gear to continue being new, they have to pay for all of that other stuff. And as crazy as it sounds, putting it onto a top racer is the easiest way to make something "cool" and sell more of it. These day's you do not always get what you pay for, You can get cheaper gear that will outlast more expensive gear. Then again , the focus of the newest gear ( pants, jersey,gloves) seems to be on making it be super light , unrestrictive and durability is farther down the list of what makes good gear. It is so much more comfortable than the old stiff pants and cotton jersey's that were just fading away when I was really getting into racing. So I'm not saying it is a bad thing. Just a thing.

It will likely not fit & fall apart after riding 1 session. And it doesnt include transport costs which are huge.

I've bought gear from a friend who has a mx shop who bought their own gear stuff from i think Pakistan and he showed me the costs (and the issues). His cost price 100+ sets of pants & jerseys including transport, customs etc. was somewhere around 70 euro. And that didnt include the hours he had to invest in finding a decent company, test their stuff, have it changed, then pay 10 grand upfront and hope it gets delivered etc etc. And it still is low to medium quality compared to the major brands.

He said it probably would have been better to order 100+ sets from a company that produces locally. Less hassle, not that much more expensive and way better quality.

Three people downvoting this I have a question for you, if you think they were just printing money why did they shut down?

Glad to see another quality option return, an additional gear company with a drastically different business model than most, I don’t see the downside. The brands carried by your local dealer will still sell their sub $100 sets to your local shops, big retailers will order full spectrum, and there’s one more option (which by my math only brings the total to 3, possibly 4) for passionate enthusiasts who want sublimated name and number printing.

P. S.
I like the influence of the early 2000’s no fear gear in the orange set. I think I read in Matthes’ long form article that was from the French designer they had. Hands down my favorite era of no fear gear (despite the cringey name).

the 2 colorways dropped so far look like a tip of the hat to the old Fox stuff Bubba wore and I cant decide if the other is like the Alloy Gear Alessi wore or some No Fear stuff. Either way I dig what they are doing.
