Just watched AJ Catanzaros latest YouTube video stating he's moving to "the dog pound" as Jett and Hunter have bought the property off the old 83 compound guys. Good to see a piece of moto Mecca back in Australian hands after being Reedys property for years.

Is that the place in Florida where Reed built the Kart track ( that, I think ended up being much of the source of his problems there) , as well as his Bike tracks?

If so, and the "83 compound guys" have been riding, I guess riding there is now OK?

**** I just checked said video, and, the aerial view at the start shows that tar track, so it looks to be that, indeed. *****

Had some bad neighbors. They bitched about the noise. He got that straightened out with the county. Then he built th kart track. More issues. I think in the end he was allowed to keep, so long as there was no more then 5 riders or something. Something tells me he and the kids will be riding there.

I think I read that was constructed, without approval. I'd guess when you build something with a tar base, it might come down to having to meet rules for "whatthebloodyever". Who the f**k knows?

I've no idea what the 'rules' were in that location and I've No interest in the inevitable squeals from people here along the lines of "it's your / his property, you should be able to do whatever you want on it".

As the song goes, 'I Fought The Law, And The Law Won' - that's nearly Always the case.

Hell, If I put in a (long) tar drive way into a property I have, I'd have to build it to the (wildly expensive) spec that the local council requires of it. But, my gravel road in, no bloody problems, whatsoever.

It may have had nothing to do with the construction, but, some things I read, said that.

Others, said it was down to noise - be it running the Karts out of designated hours, or, that they were bloody loud. A Kart is generally much, much more on the top end of the revs, and, for a long time. And the 450 / 250 F engined Karts I've heard, are So Bloody Loud.

Or , simply, his local council, allowed only Motorcycle usage - as I said, WTF Knows?

And, if anyone thinks I'm Anti Reed / Pro Council, you are a f**king Drongo.

I'm just referring to a couple of points I read. The things I've had to to, to 'meet code', as Americans often say, with property I own, have been quite the trial, at times. The example of the driveway I referred to, is on a property out the back of Woop Woop. You'd never think there'd be an issue, but, there certainly would have been, if I wanted a fancy tar road up to the buildings - which, I didn't. But did the council Inspector hound me to make sure I didn't lay down tar - people, he certainly bloody did. All the while I was saying, point blank, that I had no need, no intention of spending multiple K on that idiocy.

It's good to see the Lawrences have now, a good set up of their own in Florida (?), and what Reed, and the next owners may have built, is not going to waste, or, bulldozered. Cool

It wouldnt have been cheap renting a spot at a place like that. Between hunter and Jett it may be more cost effective to buy the place and in 10 years be ahead

Out of interest, what would AJ’s deal be to use the facilities?
Would he be paying a fee to use a mechanic bay and track hire etc or how does that work ?

I don’t know the details but I was curious if the Lawrence bros gave him a deal on rent with them all being business partners and friends.

If yall want to know how boring supercross will be with all electric bikes watch AJ's vlog. He rides the track well on the Alta but doesn't have the same excitement as an ICE Bike (especially a two-stroke) hitting the track. And AJ mentions in the comments riding supercross with no clutch is extremely difficult.

So, the new RMATV team didn't work out, now he's selling the property.
Is there any more to this story?

The story was always about Mark's son Ethan Mackenzie Lane. The whole reason in buying it from Reed was so the kid could live and train in the U.S. I don't believe his results have been what they hoped for when they came across the pond.
