My wife wants to go to San Felipe for 3 days for the 1000. (How's that for a keeper lol) We used to go and camp but this year were in the TRD and hoteling it. Simple simple no muss no fuss. Anyone going or have any idea wich hotels are nicer than others ? Not concerned with $ so much, just don't want to wind up in a shitbox
Any ideas ? Team Green ? Anyone ? Close enough to town to walk to the main drag on the beach where the restaraunts are would be ideal
Edit: and the cooler of course

I have such a love/hate relationship with this race. On one hand....its completely fricken bad ass and I love the characters who are able to harness all the skills to succeed down there. On the other hand....it took my childhood hero (Danny Hamel) and a dear, dear friend from me (KC66) and I have a hard time going "all in" on it and sometimes wish they'd just do away with the bikes racing there before we lose another hero.
Literally not a day goes by that I don't wish Kurt hadn't got bit by the Baja bug and he would just stayed in the US/Rally....fuck I miss that guy.
Maybe someday I should take another trip down there and see if I can find that Baja Magic again.
Good luck and safe travels to everyone involved.
* Mods I guess I should have put this in the offroad section, I'm not sure how to move it. (If you think it's necessary have at it)

Pit Row
If you’ve never been to the 1000 and witnessed it in person, it should be added to your bucket list if you are even remotely a Motörhead. The trophy trucks are just unreal to see in person.
Besides helping my buddies with logistics, mechanical support, driving, pit duties, I was blessed to met and talk to Ricky Johnson. Yes, the Bad Boy himself, around 4 am Saturday morning at the finish line while waiting* for my road dog Corin from the 301x team to bring it home.
Hopefully we will be back next year to try and defend the Pro 30 title.
