Next time I damage some ribs, and it's happened a fair few times over the years, I'll try that, seemingly, nutty idea.

ANYTHING to avoid sneezing with damaged ribs, is something I'll try.

Though, with the NZ to your moniker, you could just be a dastardly Kiwi, playing tricks on unsuspecting non Kiwis ...... Woohoo

Damn that sucks, hate to hear that! Is that at Zona? I would look into getting them plated, have patient testimonials of them being off the vent the next day and going home after surgery. Especially with 10 broken ribs...
