RJ vs Bradshaw

Rick Johnson was in his peak in 1989 before the end of his career. If you watch 1989 SX you’ll see his technique was advanced from his Ward rivalry. Bradshaw beat him in Japan.

What would have happened if Johnson wasn’t sidelined, and Bradshaw came into the 90 season?

Imo it could have been the greatest showdown we would have ever seen to this day.

If RJ didn’t break his wrist in 1989, he wins at least 4 more titles before retirement, and his win record mirrors RV, Dunge, and Stew. RJ is one of the best ever.

Had RJ not gotten injured, I'm not sure Bayle has the amazing 91 season he had.

Very true. But, also, if DB isn't injured in January of '87, maybe RJ doesn't win all four of those titles.

In ‘92 if Bradshaw hadn’t gotten into that beef with Chicken, and hadn’t t-boned him on purpose and taken them both down, he would’ve won the sx title easily. Losing that title crushed his confidence and he was never the same after that. He might’ve had something for MC in ‘93.

Bradshaw destroyed his knee in 1992 during the start of the MX series. The MX series started while SX was still going.

Could have won 6 in just 89 and 90. His win percentages on the Honda from 86 to his injury is well over 60 percent. Indoors and out. Rain or shine. It didn’t matter RJ was the best.
