This is the first time ever in all my years of wrenching on things that i have ever broken a spark plug off. I have a 2005 CRF 450 and just put the head back on and have everything torqued down and i decided to change the plug while i am there. I put the socket on it and start to lossen it and bingo the plug twists off and just the threads are in my head. Everything came out so all I have is the threads left. My question is has anyone had similar problems and will an EZ out be sufficient enough to get it out. Need it don tonight so I can ride tomoorrow! Thanks!

He'll soon find out. Myself, the head would be coming back off of that engine.

Um yeah the head had to definitly come off. I tried the ez out. Broke my snap on ratchet, had it soaking in PB Blaster over night, heated it with my torch to no avail. I ended up buying a new head. I don't live far from Honda East in Toledo so my buddy who works there had 3 in stock. Picked it up and re assembled it, now I have a running bike again! It is probably one of the wierdest things hppen while I was wrenching on something. I have had things break, bolts etc. but I could always get them out or fix it. Oh well got it fixed.

BTW nothing fell in, the whole plug from the electrode up with the ceramic came out. I could see the piston, sorta weird.

You should pull the plug back out and coat the threads on it with a little dab of anti-seize.

The funny thing is I did it with the plug from hell. Just one of those things I guess.

I cracked a plug putting it back in (Didnt know it) my socket was wedged up against the frame until I ground 1/4 " off of its length) got 15 minutes on it locally and finally the center of the plug fell into the engine...it looked like someone shot the head / piston / crank with a couple of rounds of #11 bird shot off a12 gauge.
I relaced the piston,re plated the cylinder and fkushed the crank out with some kerosene while the bike was upside down.
Being a HONDA ( 94 CR250) I raced it for 4 years on that mauled crank!
