In my personal opinion, we need to stop looking at quantities and more so quality in Amateur Motocross. Even with the debacle this year over the Lorettas stuff.

The American amateur Moto system seems to be broken.
I personally feel like there need to be tons of changes if we want to see the sport grow anymore in the future years.
Electric is only going to "help" the industry so much, but I don't think it will help racing to incredibly much. Maybe opening some E tracks in spots we otherwise would never be able to ride but it only takes us so far.

I think it comes down to kids going to school, the home school and compound living situations, professional age...

Christian Craig, in hopes of no crazy injuries, is going to be a new generation of "Older Riders" racing into the mid to late 30s competitively. I think a lot of people get skewed when we see Villo and RC retiring with enough money in their mid-late 20s.... this thread could go on forever, but I think it should be something like, ride 250fs MANDATORY, until mid-20s, late 20s... They then have to move up and have 450 careers through their 30s.

I believe there should be 2 series' in effect that are Expert or Pro level, but one step below everyone in AMA SuperMotocross, just like other sports, a minor league for example. The minor league still pays enough for riders to make a living... maybe even something very similar to WSX structure... I'm going into this post half-blind and thinking out loud while doing so and throwing ideas so dont torch me too bad!

If there could just be some way to get everyone to work together and make something happen I personally think lots of changes could be made for the way better, and the future of our sport that seems to struggle to grow.

Ponca City... Went in as #1 qualified west coast 125 expert in '79 and blew my ACL in first practice. Hate that place. There was no ACL fix in '79...

On the other hand, I hope they have a great event!

I personally think the complete opposite. Idgaf about quality. I care about kids and adults having fun from beginner on.

actually more like 1200.

the ratio is entries-real people .62%

at least it has played that way over the years in local racing not sure on the Mega-events.

It’s a little different at amateur nationals. More classes to enter than local event.

I’d guess closer to 7-800

Still not a bad #.
