Saw Dirty Honey supporting Rival Sons, love that kind of old school sleazy rock shit.

Going to see the Sheepdogs on Saturday night, a band I also saw supporting Rival Sons on a previous tour.

Big fan of all the bands the OP listed. Just learned a Porn Crumpets song on guitar the other day, saw All Them Witches at Voodoo Fest in 2016, and QOTSA is probably my favorite current band. Just ordered their first album reissued on vinyl and set one of my guitars up in C standard.

My friend's band, he's a hell of a guitar player (and vintage gear dealer)

My uncle drums for this band, definitely a shameless 80s metal throwback.

These guys are amazing. Kind of a mix between Led Zeppelin and soundgarden. Gotta be halfway good if Jimmy Page shows up to watch em.

Hell yeah. I've seen both, but I gotta say, ATM was one of my favorite live shows I've seen. They were performing as a power trio while touring on the self titled record and the sound was SO good. Robbies drums were monstrous despite being smaller sizes.

QOTSA has been a longtime favorite of mine as well. As a drummer, few dudes come close to the badassery of Jon Theodore. That dude is like the spiritual wild child of John Bonham and Billy Cobham. His playing on the first two Mars Volta records is some of the craziest shit I've heard.

I don't hate em but they have yet to do anything that doesn't feel like Universal Music Group pandering to the "I was born in the wrong generation/nobody makes good music now" demographic. That being said, each release they do seems to be pointed in a more interesting direction and I'm curious to see where they go with their creativity.

I haven't really done a deep dive on them, more of a casual fan at the moment. Currently getting more into Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, had their 1st album on repeat blasting when I pulled into Red Bud a couple weeks ago.

I'll 2nd John Theodore being a badass on the drums, saw them live in 2018 and they were incredibly tight.

On your other post about Tame Impala, another one I've just barely started to listen to, but I'll agree on the Beatles/Pink Floyd combo, walked into a record store while they had "it is not meant to be" playing and was immediately mad I didn't come up with that bass line.

Regardless of what its called or labelled, i think the kids today are making great music. As is true for most generations.
