I think its 1 exemption per manufacturer? ..... and if they're able to get the bike up and running and the correct numbers into production, they won't need the exemption. Could this be the beginning of the end of the 4fiddy class?

KTM has been working on a 350cc four-stroke ever since Steve Whitelock and Giuseppe Luongo started floating the idea that 450cc four-strokes were too fast and that manufacturers should make 350cc displacement four-strokes. On a side note to that MXA article, that FMF pipe on TP's RM125 looks like a stocker with the paint sanded down, and an FMF badge tacked on.

Beginning of the end..........but there will always be a small market for them because they are used in so many other forms of 2 wheeled racing.

A Honda 350F......that would be a fun bike.

A 350 might be fun for someone who's affraid to ride a 450. Why should the 450 market suffer due to a bunch of halfmen that want everyone to ride slower bikes? I hate to bring this to the table, but....

a 450 at all. There's nothing less in riding

by the size of their privates , your small to begin with!
I think the 350's cool. There's the time, investment, etc.,
that goes into such, & for me you have to respect that.

things some. You see outside of all the talk earlier, no
manufacture stepped up to do anything, except KTM.

God I hope so.....What people seem to be missing in this whole 450 argument is that the engine's have to stay the way they are no newer parts or technology (aside fiom efi) can be developed because they are already too fast bone stock so the engine and bike itself cannot advance like the 250f has..... the 450 has made about the same numbers siince day one only the 250f has gone up in hp. Why? beacuse they are already too fast stock. Clement Desalle's bike he raced to a THIRD in moto one was torn down and was found to be bone stock!

With a little work from the big 5 on a 350 they could easily get close to 450 numbers with minimal work less weight and reciprocating mass giving a bike that handles better and doesn't beat you down as bad. Why some of you are against the 350 idea is beyond me based on logic and the possibility of future advancement the 350 is a better choice in the long run. I'd be willing to be that 90% of engine mods i.e. head work, etc. PC does are primarily on 250f's. I guarantee that KTM350 will be more than competitive and the other 4 will soon follow suit once it's been proven by KTM

Great... a high strung motor that's going to require more maintenance, and it still won't have the same power as a 450 (AKA a heavily modded 250f) I agree that the concept is great. I don't agree that the 350 should replace a 450. IF they even make a 350, it would be a great bike to ride if you don't enjoy 450s... and if you want, race it with the 450s if a 450 is too powerful. IF they make a 350, I'm sure it will have some advantages on an AX style track.

Take it with a lil humor dude. Do you really think that I think that Dungey, Pourcel, Barcia, or any of the lites riders are pussies? NO WAY. Of course there's nothing less in riding smaller "cc's". Most people have no right buying a 450 in the first place.

KTM will still make a 450 if their past record is anything to go by. Look at them now with 400, 450 and 525 4-strokes.

For sure and they will lose market share if they dont. Face it the majority of riders/racers that dislike these monsters is growing daily

Didn't someone report that Caroli was killing everyone in the MX1 class on a 400 instead of a 450 bec he was able to ride it harder and faster longer?

Please......FMF's been making two strokes pipes since 1973....give me a freakin' break RE: stocker sanded down.

BTW, after FMF made TP's pipe they realized they should have put on the FMF badge upside down but time didn't allow for it.
