If he is going to get the blame for a loss he needs all the same props for a win.

He should use this win as a perfect bow out opportunity, IMO.

Agreed. I think he should go out on this high note because he can not afford another loss. People have been calling for new blood. I think he was lucky this year because our top guys went this time.

I think Decoster has earned the right to bow out when he wants to bow out. He is the reason and person behind getting Team USA to compete in mxdn when no American or team wanted anything to do with the race . I’m sure with his age now he only has a few more years left before he retires, I don’t think he should be forced or pushed out he doesn’t deserve that

Did Decoster really do much to help team USA get the win though ? I'd put it down to more of the likes of Paul Perebijnos who organised fundraisers etc and made it more about the team getting together and having that comradery

The team manager is not responsible for how the riders ride.

Right with you, glad he learned his lesson in gate picks. Great rider and manager but just like politicians there comes an age to step aside

You would have to be blind not to see how difficult it is to win these. Last person to blame over the years is RD. Couple bad starts, bad luck, mistakes, and or a few more fast guys out there, different outcome.

Admittedly over the years I have been one who always expected USA to win. Even as solid as we were going into 3rd moto, never a lock. Top European riders deserve loads of respect. Super pumped USA did it in tough conditions, can’t say our riders are only good in the dry.

And HELL YEAH props to Jcoop, shut some people up!

I think Paul Perijbinos or however you spell his name getting the team atmosphere going would have definitely helped you guys get going, but in all honesty, I love Roger, but he's not even managing the KTM team day to day.

I think after a few of the tactical decisions or the fact that some teams have been peeved with him, a change is a good thing now. It's not a slight at him.

I’m pretty sure Eli and Chase chose the team this year. what did Decoster do? Was he even on the broadcast?

Easy to get the atmosphere going in your home cuntry. I’ll reserve judgement after next year.

That's probably a fair comment but I think he's the kinda guy who will keep going with it.

I really think the event needed a USA team win. With a few of the teams sorting shitting on the event the last few years, getting frustrated with Roger, pulling riders etc. It needs people to champion it because if USA don't go and aren't good it's just not the same.

I wonder if it was Roger who kyboshed using a 450 rider as a 250 rider.
Definitely needed a USA win for sure

If the best US riders commit to race MXDN, they should/could win every year... Doesn't matter who wears the team shirts and holds the headsets...

I’m here.

Still think he’s overrated. He’s good at winning with the top riders who woulda won anyway, he’s made a career out of it. This is just another example of that…

*Come on you old farts, let’s get this to 100 downvotes!

I was told he has nothing to do with the losses so why would he get credit for this win?

Time to get Ricky Carmichael and Tim Ferry as team managers.

Hey, that’s just mean, bro. Pinch

I don’t understand all The Roger Hate; but, hey…this IS the interwebsthingy and we’ve all got our own opinions.

So…well…you brought this on yourself, man…
