KTM 250 Sxf - Code 8 blinks

I just rebuilt my 250 Sxf bb and am getting 8 blinks ...pause... 8 blinks...continuously. I am also running a Vortex ecu, so not sure what to make of this.

Anyone know what the 8 blinks code means?

The bike sounds so good revving up on the stand that it almost seems like there has to be something wrong!

And no, I don't have a service manual

Do you have the stock ECU? Mine blinked 8 times and from what I understand thats a generic code on the Vortex. I plugged my stock unit in and the code blinked properly. I would however first check the air sensor and all the connections leading to it. That seems to be common culprit.

Mine pulled out a few times while riding somehow. It would rip the wires and ultimately I had to buy a new harness. The 23’s have a new placement for that sensor which is on top of the air box now so hopefully that type of issue won’t happen anymore. If it ever happens again, you can ride the bike and it really doesn’t effect anything. I rode mine for weeks with the wires ripped out while I waited for the new harness to show up.
