Well, KTM and Star are both looking a little light in the 450 class for next year... He'll have some irons in the fire and be on a quality bike for sure. Top 3-4 guy with race winning capability.

It's interesting, he explicitly states "I'm not doing this for the money", but then also says he won't race next year unless he gets an offer for good money.

He also says he's doing it for the fans, but he only does what he is obligated to do for sponsors.

Honestly, I like honda's bikes.. But i don't respect them as a business at all.. Im still salty over the MC thing and then RC.. so as a professional organization, i wouldn't sign with them on their lack of principals.

It’s kind of wild we don’t hear about guys starting their own teams anymore toward the end of their careers. Seems like Kenny could do what Reed did with Team two two at the minimum. But I’m guessing he’s reached his nut, and isn’t looking to put in that level of commitment.

He contradicted the shit out of himself that whole interview. Definitely a weird one. Props to Stew as well for not beating around the bush at all, that was great. Was real confused when he said im not here to ask for fill in rides or anything but proceeded to keep saying he was available and he's a free agent. He's also choosing the fans over a Honda contract.

He will be a good second rider for a team. He can win a race or two a year and is fan favorite that will help sell bikes. Low money up front and large bonus for wins.

I think the only reason he lined up for the outdoors at all was for the money. Dude has been mentally done with the sport for a while, or is at least flakey enough about it that Honda is cutting their losses.

If we are talking strictly results, I’d pick two guys over Kenny that are(I think) free agents. The best part is you could probably get those guys on a two year deal for what it would cost to get Kenny for one year. Yes, Kenny will win a race here or there but I mean point totals they have guys id pick over Kenny. Kenny does have value in marketing and that’s what his team will show I am sure.

Add Gary Jones, Marty Smith (NO ONE sold more bikes for Honda), Johnny O, and Mickey Dymond to that list.

Honda has a LONG history of kicking riders to the curb.
