It's TOTALLY DIFFERENT

I just got a phone call and be prepared to see a whole new track

10 Commandments....GONE

New "version" in back after you came out of the "double/triple, right turn, left turn and it's in that straight now

Switchback in trees before you sweep around pond, now has an off-camber

Bunches of other changes and I was told it doesn't look even done yet...

But what you knew, is gone

What you thought you had wired, is gone

No home track advantage for the Vets anymore

WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Thats cool. I wonder how many guys have their practice tracks set up to resemble LL's? I know I rode on one a few years ago.

wow. in the 5 years i went they made the table top longer and made S turn in the start different. That is a lot of changes at once. I always loved the 10 commandments i hope they didn't ruin them.

Ruin?
I was told, GONE

There's a whole new one in a new place

Some new dirt has been brought in.

Two things seem the same at this point, start still goes right, same as before
Finish still seems the same

(but there's still a week to mess with that of course and I was told it didn't look "done"

Marc Peters has been there since Thursday, so it's going to be a lot of new stuff and no one will have any "home track" advantage because like Dave said, what they may have built at home is no longer what they will be riding, for the most part, and no bike touches Loretta Lynn's except the Monday - thru - Saturday of the race week.

I haven't seen it but I have full faith in the man. He's done great work in refiguring High Point and Steel City and making them race a little differently than before.

I am headed there Wednesday, so unless someone beats me to it, I will get some photos going then.

During my phone call, he was real impressed with what he saw.

At this point, it's unclear what the final product will be, but what we do know is what is gone.

DC or Dave,
I cant get out of work for all of LL's if you were only allowed to go for one day would it be the last or another? Just for spectating obviously.

Seriously, that's a tough call.
Go late in the week and see the final championship motos and the battles for the title, that's where the real drama is.
Lot of good races on Friday

Last day is usually a shorter day than some of the others. If you're going for one, I'd say next-to-last.

That is a conundrum. I always liked the beginning of the week, when everyone still feels like they have a chance -- and they do. Sometimes, late in the week, the pecking order in each class starts to get established. So split the week and go on Thursday -- and you won't want to leave Friday!

We are going to be there Mon-Thur but have to get back here for a race on the weekend
Sounds like we are going to see some great racing on a new layout.

Very cool.

Either way, old or new, it is dirt and dirt bike and the best will come out on top.

One change that might cause a little issue is the forecast for RAIN throughout the week.

I would recommend that everyone know how to rain/mud prep yourself and your bike prior to the races.

We are in Ponca and it has just started to rain, so we will see how it turns out.

See you at L.L. RAIN or SHINE.

I drove by Sunday and it looks like a big SX. There were several bowl turns and where the big table was in the middle looks like a new set of the ten commandments. It was a lot of dirt piled around and it was not finished yet. It's kind of hard to tell exactly how it will be.

I was going to take some pics but I forgot to take the camera. There are alot of changes for sure.I wish I could have taken more time and walked around the track instead of riding along the fences. This year will be interesting for sure.

Cool...can't wait to see it friday.

flarider, easy on the vet comments...I for one am glad to see a change. The last real change to me was when they run it backwards back in 1996. Now that was a change.

I always liked it when it ran backwards. The start was a little hairy that way, but I liked the long sweeper being a lefty.

It was backward in '94, then again in '96.

"Time for a change"...hahaha seems to be across the board in twenty-o-nine.

Good luck out there, old man Smile

Oh yeah, I'll be by to check ya'll out. Maybe Tuesday.

It's always more fun earlier in the week when everyone still have their legs on AND off the track...haha.

Been riding over here in North Carolina at East Bend. Going to start checking out Thunder Valley in Yadkinville, then start venturing out and about in the Fall.

They were talking about you over at Wytheville...I guess there is some big step up you were airing out. "Yeah, there was this Walker guy...kind of a a small older guy, but MAN...scary fast."

I was like..."Yup....Kevin."
