It was erected 1985 during Soviet reign. Every working citizen of Latvia was forced to "donate" 10 rubles from their paycheck for that glorification of occupation. It was a lot of money back then.

Is this gonna be a 20 year war like Vietnam or Russia s invasion of Afghanistan? Or even the US Afghanistan invasion.With no winner? Just loss of life and infrastructure? Holy shit i can remember the US being pissed at Germany for that pipeline deal a couple years back. Energy supply is why the world puts up with all the monarchy s in the middle east.

There is hell going on right now. Ukraine started counteroffensive in Kherson and Kharkiv districts. Took a lot of villages and towns. They are aiming at surrounding big russian groupings in both districts. Next few weeks will be crucial. Let`s wait and see.

The Pro-Russian telegram channels I follow that usually just post hundreds of pictures of dead Ukrainian soldiers and call everyone Nazis are trying to mitigate the current Ukrainian offensives. Pretty telling when even Intel Slava Z has admitted the fighting is hard.

Pretty spot on. There are reports russians retreated from right bank of river in Kupyansk and blew up bridge. That means Izyum area is left without supplies and reinforcement. Kupyansk is logistical hub for whole area.
