And they had the nerve to include JA21 who was in 7th, while a Tomac/Sexton battle was actually taking place. I was like, there is no way a moto fan is part of that production staff, no f'n way. Just to be clear, you wouldn't even need to be a fan of the sport to realize the top two riders are riding 10/10, and for a championship no less. Might as well hire a 10 year old nerd to be the production manager. Hell, even he might do a better job.

Ditch it.

...but wait....next year the production crew will be all "Hold my beer" and have 3 or 4 battle boxes going.

Just another pile-on, TERRIBLE production.
Instead of getting fans closer to the action were watching from mfucking space. When they come around a berm 1-2 GET CLOSER! And I don't mean 10x zoom in with their VHS cameras mounted on a boom lift 50' in the air, or buried in the dirt at the first turn. The best they did was by the mechanics area for 2 seconds, then back to pan out. You would think that shitty bombed out track was the star of the show, cause I couldnt tell which rider I was watching. I could barely tell what color their bike was. I'd say it was amateur , but the amateur footage I've seen is BETTER
Jeazus fkn christ get some professional sports production crew. /rant

I wonder if DC reads these posts. I mean, if they would only listen to what the core fans are saying here we would get a better production.

I'll pay for a subscription but I don't want adds during moto's. They are welcome to toss adds in between motos.

Do away with the battle box..its a terrible feature as sounds corny AF.

Sell the drone. Call it the Thor sky cam or whatever and fly the damn thing lower. Being a couple hundred feet up is no good to man or beast.

Edit - ......the current producer needs to be lynched.

That’s quite extreme. I don’t think that’s where I was going with this thread but trying to make the coverage the best it can be when the most critical battles of the race are going on. There was no need to cut away from the battle

I really don't mean that he needs to be shot. Our lingo this side, we often say, jus shoot the bugger...which can mean fire, dismiss etc, replace etc

It’s hard to believe how poorly the overall production, including the Mavtv debacle, has been this year for the outdoor nationals. It’s my understand the same production crew is used for supercross and supercross was great. I guess the only difference is MX Sports.

If MX Sports was a publicly traded company, DC would be removed by the board after such poor decision making and execution.

Sometimes when you’re so close to something for so many years you have a jaded perspective or can’t truly look at something objectively. I don’t know if that’s the case here, but it sure seems like it.

With timing and scoring column, those boxes are 1/4 screen size at best. It’s a shockingly terrible idea to use that.
For small screens, unwatchable. And destroys the value of having a big screen. Can’t believe the idea didn’t get nixed in the first meeting. And there are other ways to push Thor.

The best way to think about it is like when you start turning clickers on your bike. One click here, one click there, a turn here on the hsc, a little rebound and before you know it you think you need a revalve. Then you go back to stock positions and the bike is 10x better. You start to wonder how the fuck you thought you were making things better the whole time. Sometimes you just gotta take a step back lol.

I do hate the battle box. It was rather hilarious when 1 box had Chase and Eli from the drone and the other box was Anderson riding basically by himself, without another rider even in the picture lol.

Use the wasted space to either have ads AND explanations...WHO IS BATTLING WHO?
here we are with a 46" screen and two miserable boxes where we cannot really see who and what is going on.

while you are at it, why not have a DOUBLE BATTLE BOX ROYALE, put four smaller screens... or 16...
With ads for Brando and OWW my balls...
Man that movie holds up. It's sad honestly how relevant it is.

I totally agree. Things like that are always making my blood pressure high when I watch mx or sx. Especially this year's outdoor series. I would be happy to never see any more drone cam footage, and now their making it suck even more with these ridiculous "battle boxes".
. As if this weren't enough, I have to experience the same frustration each time I watch a replay.
