We were in this race. I asked Mike to give us his first place trophy if he was unable to lap my son. He didn't and he gave us his first place trophy. I think we were 9th or 10th overall. Been a fan of the 800 ever since. You should have seen the look on my son's face carrying that humongous 6' trophy back to the pits. Good times indeed. Ooops, now that I remember, the race I am referring to took place at Mosier. So it must have been the GNC International Finals in circa 2002. Yea that was it because what is todays KX65 were debuted at this race.
KX65 were first out in 2000 in Europe, bought one of the 1st for son and 3 months later it was recalled for cracking welds at engine mounts I think.

Ok first off, Kmiller quit calling people names, that doesn’t help anyone believe you.

Second of all, Kmiller IS correct. There was a one off pitbike class that Davi and Mike raced each other in that I saw in 2003 at Lake Whitney. I remember one of their bikes was more trick than the other and they weren’t able to battle.

I don’t know if it was raced at Mosier or Ponca etc. but I know for a fact it happened at Whitney that year.

Only proof I’ve found so far is in this video.

Skip to 2:20, Davi doing wheelie on his said “pit bike”.

Yea just get heated when so many”know it alls” try to discredit the entirety of my post. I deal with internet trolls all day everyday on fb groups where I sale dozens of restored vintage bikes. It gets old but yea my bad man!

Why because I was right? My whole post was about the bike being mikes and retelling what I was told about who built it. You are the one who brought all the other in here. Thanks Jeff ask your old man about it as he probly remembers the bike and the history. No one was trying to cash in on anything just honestly asking if anyone of you may want it before he sales it
I’m gunna stoop to your level for a moment…
You claimed that the bike was “CLAIMED” did you not ?

What “other” did I bring in here ? I was there, were you ? I never said that this PIT BIKE didn’t exist. I said I didn’t remember it being claimed. The pit bike isn’t worth shit, It was a side show class, for FUN.
Donnie doesn’t even remember this bike, so cross him off your list as potential buyers.

So maybe some of the back story did or didn't get messed up. It's still a damn cool piece of mx history to own .

Wow you don’t stop, I corrected you being yours obviously impossible, I said and I quote “I’m going off what I was told and he told me it was protested, and yes it was a very real class so let’s not discredit that part. It’s not a typical pit bike either and I’m not on here trying to sale this bike as I’ve stated if you’d read you would get what I was trying to do. Any bike rode by Mike would be worth more than any normal bike, a experimental built bike that was ahead of it’s time is also a bike I’d say worth putting gas in, see you’re just being rude. I think you should calm down and reread the post, I got defensive over the way most feared as if I made up a story.

Sounds just like a mod pit bike and mod pit bike class which everyone one was building and riding back then, that’s when BBR started up around that time building mod pit bikes . Everyone had mod pitbikes and all the local races and big races held pit bike races the night befor or day of . Nothing really special if your want see trick pit bike from back then search the BBR bikes

They even ran indoor stadium pit bike races back then 50cc.75,100,125,150 classes. Two brother racing and BBR were building 10k,15k full mod pit bikes back then. The whole thing died off by 2008 2010. It’s picking back up a little but nothing like how it was in the early and mid 2000s

That bike sounds like it was probably pretty trick stuff especially back then!
Pretty neat score on your part.
Would be interesting to know what kinda HP it put out compared to the stock XR motors back in those days.
I'd assume it would be much much more.

I see you changed the title of post and also removed the “CLAIMED” part …
That would have kept 90% of the responses relevant in this thread ! You brought on the comments yourself, IMO

See you still can’t shut it !!! Damn I’m glad I don’t know you personally, I changed the name because I feel parts of the story have been cleared up and I felt it was fitting. Nothing about what I was told” has been made up. Dude get off my sack already, move on.

She’s a great woman who wouldn’t even acknowledge your presence, so there’s that… you’re a real piece of trash bro! All because u claimed I was wrong and wouldn’t stick around to admit it, and now that it’s your turn… you’re really manning up to the wrong part. Do yourself a favor and quit it. Just go away before you overdue it.
