That said, as the husband volunteer to all of her amazingness, I'll take a swing...
What's your thoughts on the new bill that if passed would require hotels and motels to give any rooms that aren't rented
by 2pm to homeless people for a taxpayer funded " Fair market value" voucher?
I think we're getting to a point, that because the NIMBY people have made it so hard to help the homeless, that the cities hand is being forced to take drastic measures... even if it is only to scare people into making new homeless shelters a reality. Everyone wants to help the homeless but no one wants to do it at any inconvenience to themselves, well, then the problem will never be solved. It's all of our problem and it's going to take all of us working together to fix it.
Do you agree that our tax money should be spent for homeless people to stay in hotels and motels for free right next door to tourists that probably had to pay top dollar and plan months in advance?
I do.
Seems like promoting homelessness over tourism to me?
I'm not quite sure how giving a homeless family a room for a night so they don't have to sleep on the ground is promoting homelessness over tourism.
How is this a good idea?
I think there is a gross misunderstanding of the type of people who will be on the list to receive these rooms. It's not a "hey, if you show up after 2:00 you get a room" deal. From what I gather is that it's a well vetted list comprised of women escaping abuse, homeless families, homeless foster youth, etc. that are on wait lists for other shelters.
Have you ever read up on Walter Williams? I always goi back to two of my favorite quotes of his. What is your opinion and rebuttal to these?
"My definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree?...how much of what I earn belongs to you--and why?"
"If one person has a right to something he did not earn, of necessity it requires that another person not have a right to something that he did earn."

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I don't think anything on the scale of a society every stops evolving. We should always be marching towards a better existence for everything on this planet.
Have you ever read up on Walter Williams?
I have not.
"My definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn."
Honored I'm being asked to counter the works of someone who gets paid to say things like this, but, I suppose having been asked, I would counter with, "a rising tide lifts all boats".
"If one person has a right to something he did not earn, of necessity it requires that another person not have a right to something that he did earn."
As a human, I refuse to believe we are limited to an existence in which one persons success is dependent on another's failure. Am I missing what the quote is saying? That second sentence isn't worded easily for me to understand.
".how much of what I earn belongs to you--and why?"
The second quote basically states that for you to receive anything that you did not earn it has to be taken by force from someone that did earn it. How is that morally acceptable?
I am a strong believer in charity and believe it's the best way to help the less fortunate. Statistically irrelevant but I do belong to some charitable organizations and we always do better with getting money from conservative types rather than progressives.
Do you think cheating on your wife with another consenting adult woman is worse than showering with your daughter? Or assaulting Tara Reid?
Someone who works hard for a better existence for everything on this planet.
Could you give us a few names of progressive who you feel properly represent the progressive contingent (and their achievements)?
This one is tricky because so many people cary with them the flaws of the time they lived, but, to name a few that come to mind when writing this response...
Margaret Sanger and and women's rights.
Eleanor Roosevelt and workers rights.
Martin Luther King Jr. and civil rights.
Harvey Milk and gay rights.
There are quite a few modern ones as well but I feel like listing those would completely derail this thread.
All of it. Kidding. I don't think it's a case of "how much of what you earn belongs to me" and is more along the lines of a "how much of of what we all earn should be used to help those of us who need it" situation.
"Why?"
Because we're not a bunch of monkeys fighting over fig trees anymore. The world is so fucking small now that we're all one flight away from being anywhere in a day and talking anywhere in the world in a second. We're all in this shit together and if history has taught us anything, if we don't make the world livable for the all, those who feel the pinch the most will eventually eat the rich.
The second quote basically states that for you to receive anything that you did not earn it has to be taken by force from someone that did earn it.
OK cool, that's how I took it. And I still stand by it; I think we as humans are capable of coming up with a society in which one persons success isn't dependent on someone else's failure. The only thing preventing it from happening is other humans.
Statistically irrelevant but I do belong to some charitable organizations and we always do better with getting money from conservative types rather than progressives.
You live in a pretty conservative area so I would suspect you get a lot more help from conservatives.
Yes. Unless your wife consented to... then maybe? But if your wife was cheating it implies she didn't consent to you sleeping with another woman, so, yes again?
Do I think cheating on your wife is worse than assaulting Tara Reid?
No.
That sentence is what I believe is the key difference between progressive/socialist and conservative/capitalists. Progressives think everyone should have a piece of the pie, Conservatives think we should make more pies.
I've never understood the income disparity argument. You may make twice the income that I do and it would not effect my life one iota. If I am happy with my wage and standard of living that should be enough.
As far as living in a conservative area, I spent most of my life in the Detroit suburbs in Michigan. That is the first place I noticed it.
Pit Row
Maybe another way of putting it is: I like that his ship appears to have found a good direction but I don't like how little ground it's covered.
Does that help?
As a progressive, I'm going to disagree; I 100% think we should make more pies. I live in California, a state that makes and shares a shit ton of pies with people who happily eat my pies while telling me they don't want to share theirs. I just don't think that people should be in a position where they can have all the pies while so many people have no pies. That's not a healthy society and unhealthy societies die.
How old was his daughter?
Did she write it as it was happening on when she reflected upon it later?
If the later - how old was she when she wrote it?
What did he do to her?
There's too little information for me to make an informed response to your question.
edit:
All of the videos of his "sniffing" young girls should tell you there is something wrong with the guy.
