The fact of the matter is nobody wants to work anymore and everyone wants to get rich with minimal effort, if I was a young mechanic that liked moto I’d give it a shot, what’s the worst that could happen? It doesn’t workout and you go back to your normal grind but if it does end up being a great experience you win! People are lazy bums and in all reality how busy can a mechanic at a small dealership selling 10-20 cars a month? Clean cars generally don’t need much work to pass inspection….

When I'm done working Mon-Fri my time is more valuable than that. I'll go ride my dirt bike on my own dime.
And yeah I'm a Vet B rider working as a service advisor making close to six-figures as well at a new car dealer.

Edit: Would be a cool gig for some young man with no family, able to travel trying to pave his way in the industry.

I live in CT where we have a higher pay rate because the cost of living is so high(I was a service manager for 10 years). It's rare to see a tech make over 75k in a dealership setting let alone an entry level tech making 80k plus. I work fork Toyota forklifts and we pluck auto techs from dealers all the time. They are lining up at the door to make $25/hour.

We have experienced journeyman techs, get paid book labor times. Our CVT tranny guy has turned 100+ book hours in a week. Some only turn 40-50 in a week. Every dealer is different, I'm lucky to work where I do. You get out what you put in.

Are you a video editor? 90% of editing is waiting for the computer to compile. I am no expert and don't like doing it but the process is straight forward if a little time consuming. I think we can find the time to edit a few videos a month. If it takes to long we will find someone to edit our videos after we put our monolog on top of it. For every problem a solution exist. Or it doesn't.

Buying cars at auction never guarantees the car is clean.

You would need around 3,373.90$ in Panama City to maintain the same standard of life that you can have with 5,700.00$ in Dallas, TX

We do not live on a monolithic country. I am sure a San Francisco person thinks you are getting paid subpar.
