Bought this bike back in 2015 with the intention of redoing it and keeping it as a fun play bike. Part of the deal when I bought the bike was boxes upon boxes of spare parts. Also thrown into the deal was a nearly complete 03 spare bike with a seized crank that they had been using as a parts bike. I tore the bike down end of 2015 with intentions to build it but ended up buying a house and the bikes been in boxes since the move. Found some motivation a couple months back and got the frame powder coated silver. I also had the spare frame powder coated a darker metallic silver. Haven’t decided what route to go as far as theme of the build or which frame to use. Would love to get some PC parts but with little out there (even more so for the 03) I may go the OEM+ route. Love to here feedback and constructive criticism so don’t be shy.

This is how I bought the bike. The frame was very purple lol

Frames all powder coated

What colour powder was the silver colour? Is it close to OEM?

It’s called bengal silver. It was pretty much an exact match with the oem color.

I think a nice oem build would be sweet. I built an average man’s 03 kx125 “PC” bike and it’s pretty sweet but parts are getting so hard to find and guys are asking pretty outrageous prices.

I also built an 03 250

That build is insanely nice. Great job on getting parts

Sweet! That looks like an A+ pro build to me man. That thing looks so clean that you could eat off of it.

Here's my less < than average man's build

Pretty sweet huh. I'll post back in about a year to a year and a half with an update.

Stock linkage knuckles were beat up pretty good from I’m assuming hitting rocks or something. Grabbed some dimensions and modeled it up in cad and machined my own. Stock pull rod length for now. Last night I got some bearings and seals in the knuckle so I can mock the bike up to start brain storming what parts to add. Picked up 2 PC works pipes awhile back but there for 04-05 so I’ll either end up modifying the pipe mounts or figure out a way to make them work as is.

Very nice work! I would be very interested in a 2003 kx knuckle if you decide to make another one. I think I have a few sets of PC dog bones sitting around if you want to make a replica 03 set. Just let me know either way.
