This was on featured in the latest Racer X racerhead with a quote from David Pingree.
"There’s been a lot of talk about the son of former factory Yamaha rider Mike Craig, Christian Craig, lately. The young rider is all set to make his pro debut in two weeks at the X Games on a 450 Yamaha. He’s got Ryan Villopoto’s former mechanic, Jon Mitcheff, taking care of his bikes and helping him get ready, and it looks like he is going to turn some heads. I watched him ride at a local supercross track this week and I was impressed with what I saw. Don’t be surprised if he runs up front in the Moto X event in Los Angeles. Here’s a video that was put together by some of his supporters."

I thought I heard him say "top 3"... that's a monumental assumption for a kid racing in a professional 450 SX race with no pro SX or MX racing experience.

Maybe he has a mysterious stomach ailment?
Too late for that.
It will be interesting to see, since he hasn't been smoking everyone in the amateur ranks.
Has the kid ever raced Barcia? that would be a pretty good indicator.
He has plenty of skill and will jump anything. One part that you cannot teach is experience and the time it takes to get it.
If the people around him can keep the pressure off and allow him to do his job, he will do fine.
Good luck to Christian and Mike at the X.
Alan Gerkey
the MX Christian beat Barcia, because he fell again, but Barica, Craig and Baker were all battling 1-2-3 when he tossed it away. furthermore, he wasn't leading when he fell so get your facts straight before you ramble.
Travis Baker Temecula, CA
Christian Craig San Diego, CA
Michael Mcdade Raleigh, NC
Justin Barcia Cairo, GA
The race he blew everyone away was the 250 stock class and Christian didn't race him.
I remember JLAW smoking Villopoto at Loretta Lynns so those B level races mean shit.
Now, when people vouch for him, you get this response.
Anyways, the funniest thing about this statement is this. I know of one person that will for sure be sitting in front of the tube wondering how this "hyped" kid will do and that is mototextbook, because wether he believes in Christian or not he will be watching.
good job Icon1 for spreading the word!
Pit Row
Seems a little late for that. Every week there is another video and a thread telling us how great this kid is. The pressure is on!!!
Imo, they should of just made a little noise saying he was going to race, no videos, no spouting off at top 3.. Just go out, race, and that way you don't set yourself up for failure. He now has a ton of pressure to get top 3 in his first pro race.
someone asked about him and Barcia and i responded with the facts from the last time they raced one another.
i'm not saying Christian is going to smoke Barcia, so lets not put words in my mouth.
i'm the one that said Barica would holeshot and check out at Glen helen and everyone told me i was a dumbass and i have no clue what i'm talking about so....
Results don't lie!
