It took Dungey running out of gas at Freestone and Southwick bike problems as well for RV to win the 2011 title. Let's not forget the chain problem in SX. All RV's issues were self inflicted. I like how you people leave that out as if they both finished the season straight up.

Suzuki basically folded up their whole program and were reusing parts that year. RV had the comfort of riding the same team/bike his whole 450 career. And Kawi were always pumping money and progressing the bike. Dungey went on to an unproven team and bike.

And as for Aldon being his trainer for RV's whole 450 career it was convenient timing for RV to retire before all the PED testing started to be implemented.
You lost me at the PED comment. RV was RAW

You’re right that Villopotos issues were self inflicted but Dungey being on an unproven bike and team was also self inflicted. He chose to sign with KTM, a manufacturer that had yet to win in the premier class.

Also Villopoto did not work with Aldon his entire 450 career. ‘09 and ‘10 he wasn’t with Aldon and was in noticeably worse shape than 2011 when he started working with Aldon.

Sexton and Roczen have consistency problems. I bet Dungey can get top three

Suzuki were dead, anybody expect him to stay after that 2011 shit show. If roles were reversed RV doesn't win on the KTM either. It took the new frame that year to bail him out, well along with a bunch of mechanical problems for Dunge as well.

Dungey and RV raced 450s together from 2010-2014. In that time, Dungey won 3 championships and RV won 6. Why people think this is subjective or even up for debate is mind boggling.

Yeah it’s weird, very rarely can we compare two all time greats who raced each other for years in their primes, in this case we can and people still refuse to look at the results. It’s not a knock on Dungey but the reality is when they raced Villopoto usually had his number.
It was a difficult time for Dunge and fans those 4 years. This cannot be denied.
