He was a permanent legal resident of the US with a green card.

Dipshit dolt who?
I am my company's ITAR Compliance Officer.

Anyone with a Green Card is considered a U.S. Person as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20)

A U.S. Person as defined in that code has all the rights of a U.S. citizen except for voting rights.

Yup, "Permanent Resident"...

From USCIS:

Your Rights as a Permanent Resident

As a permanent resident (Green Card holder), you have the right to:

Live permanently in the United States provided you do not commit any actions that would make you removable under immigration law.

Work in the United States at any legal work of your qualification and choosing. (Please note that some jobs will be limited to U.S. citizens for security reasons).

Be protected by all laws of the United States, your state of residence and local jurisdictions.

Back in the '80s-'90s, I had to jump thru some "extra-hoops" to get PR's on my crews (for their clearances/guys with US Military History that were PR's).

The point to where I was at, earlier, with all of this...

Someone comes in here gettin' all "politically righteous" and virtuous; but, he can't even get the facts right? Uh, no. Many of us still can't believe what happened to Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi...as most of the world just shrugged it off...and then we have to come in here and have someone throw it around as "the issue of the day" to make some political point? Nah. Not havin' it. Not form some News Story Regurgitator .

Who Khashoggi was and things he accomplished...and where he was from...and where he still belonged...if the Kingdom would have allowed him...is an important part of his story. His history is what makes his tale so important. He was a man from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia...and he was murdered for calling out the Kingdom for it's flaws.

He was not a permenat citizen. He was a green card holder seeking citizenship. Says it repeatedly in the first 3 paragraphs of your article.
"His fiancée has said he was seeking US citizenship. "

Semantics yes but it matters. Like most of what you guys post it's only partial truths.
It doesn't negate the fact that what happened was beyond disgusting ND should not have happened but when you know you have a price on your head somewhere you don't go near those areas.

or are we just talking about the standard shady deals that go on in politics all over the world, with both of our parties?

If so, wait till you hear some of the other stories!

Waiting to hear any story that rivals Kushner's 2.5 billion from a killer Saudi prince after a US citizen was dismembered. Funny no one was chopped up when Hunter got his 5 million and you'd thought he was Satan. Nothing to see here just another example of GOP double standards.
All you have to do is look at New York. Cuomo killed 13k of the elderly with his policies and was heralded by the left as the leader in Covid policies. The thing that many people seem to forget is that America should come first.

Kushners deal is just that, a deal. This isn’t some major story. If your so concerned about the Saudi Prince, how do you feel about him and Twitter? He was at one point the largest share holder and immediately wanted Elon Musks deal not to get approved. Why would he be on the Twitter board? The left owns Twitter and it has a much further reach than a 2.5 billion dollar investment deal.

If you want to bring up problems and ways to fix them, perhaps look within the country itself first. We have been giving to anyone and everyone except for those that need it HERE. All for a vote and to remain in power.

Hey how about actually respoinding to the topic instead of doing the usual Trumper deflection BS?

Biden launched the vacinnation program, rejoined the Paris peace accords and is look at rejoining the Iraq nuclear deal. Only dipshit Netanyahu and Trump were against with Israel atomic scientists along with current and past Mossad and Shin Bet intelligence services all being for the Iran Nuclear Deal.

But dipshit Hannity and Tucker for sure know more about iwhat is best for Israel. Biden also has shored up relationships with our strategic partners after Trump alienated everyone while he was sucking up to Putin.

EDIT blaming Biden for the world post (well almost) pandemic issues is truly the most unaware thing you could do. How would things be different around the globe if Trump was president? You're simply wrong to be blaming Ukraine on Biden especially after Trump delayed aid to Ukraine trying to get Zelensky to join the Hunter witch hunt.

You should never mention having blinders on to someone based on lack of understanding of what's going on in the world. If Trump had reacted promptly to the pandemic instead of his big brain lying to the US public maybe things wouldn't be so jacked now. Yeah but we don't want to talk about any of that do we? The pandemic has affected Americans way more than any border issues have despite what Tucker says. Trump let the toothpaste get out of the tube so here we are.

Can you add anything about Kushner or do you just want to keep talking about other issues? If you do please start your own thread to peddle your deflection theories.
So once again,
Ii check back after a day and not ONE POSITIVE thing mentioned that sleepy Joe did for our country. As soon as I see you gave him credit for President Trumps vaccines that were produced at a record pace, I knew you would say nothing legit.

Do you not understand how alarming this is to the world? We have a sitting, mumbling, incoherent lost child staggering from podium to podium and he has no idea which direction he is supposed to go or what State he is in. Thai is extremely dangerous! I’m sure if he’s still breathing in 2 years you will
Just check the box where the “D” is listed and not think twice about it. Wake up and look at the damage he’s done.
And until you can post a legitimate positive action ,

And yes you are correct. The mumbling humbling idiot could not orchestrate a withdrawal that made any sense in the way it was carried out. Not to mention Trump brought peace to the Middle East. It took sleepy Joe a few months to allow the Taliban to take a over during the failed withdrawal.

Strike one!
Peace in the middle East? When did that ever happen? 😂😂

Trump (or any politician) claiming credit for the vaccines is fascicle.
First of all vaccines were developed all over the world. The Pfizer vax was developed in Germany, Pfizer bought the company and turned down any funding from operation warp speed because they said the bureaucracy would slow them down.
Johnson and Johnson vax was developed in the Netherlands.
Astra Zeneca was developed in the UK
The Moderna vax was developed in the US, and did benefit greatly from federal funding.
But let’s not pretend any politician really was responsible for developing vaccines. Every government was writing huge checks, so it’s hardly unique to one politician.

I think Biden is a shit President, but the one thing he has undoubtedly improved is relationships with age old allies. US relationships with European allies in particular were very strained during the trump years.

What Operation Warp Speed did was make it possible to get emergency use authorizations prior to all these vaccines going through all the clinical trials. It allowed vaccine manufacturers to start manufacturing large quantities of vaccine while still doing clinical trials and also allowed for combining clinical trial phases or running them concurrently.

So, the short answer is yes, Operation Warp Speed did have an impact here in the U.S. on how fast the vaccines hit the streets. Without the FDA's approval no vaccine gets authorization (in this case an EAU) here in the U.S.

Edit: The below link shows where the R&D funding came from. Not every country was writing checks.

The reasoning behind the strained relationships were due to the US paying and contributing over 41% of the NATO alliances. The other countries were not pulling their weight and Trump insisted they contribute more. This was reversed under the Biden administration and is back to business as usual. Also, relationships have not improved when you consider the middle east. Some see the entire situation as strained, others see it as America finally pointing out the fact that the NATO allies have been carried by the US for years and Trump upset the status quo.

That is one factor , but the strained relationships with allies had many other factors as well . One being that Trump’s loose cannon style was difficult to deal with in the foreign policy arena . He was very prone to saying one thing in the official press conference and then flipping 180 degrees on Twitter the next morning . This created a lot of uncertainty amongst long time allies as to where America stood on many issues . Loose lips also don’t inspire others to share a lot of sensitive information . America was becoming more isolated from its allies under Trump , I have no doubt about that . Now , maybe you think that’s a good thing … or not … but that’s a different rabbit hole .

Haha yeah Trump wasn't the most eloquent and you are right he shot off the cuff pretty often. I wouldn't see how this is a major contributing factor when countries are constantly back channeling with ambassadors and those in the know. As for the isolation where do you feel that was happening? Allies were not pulling away from the US via support.

That was the problem with Trump , nobody was in the know , because it changed moment to moment . The distancing from Trump was happening in NATO , the five eyes , g7 , g20 , WTC , International Criminal Court etc …. I saw it as a general trend across the board really . The defence spending issue is what was really pushed by the American media but there was more to it as well .

I mean not for nothing but IMO the US should pull out of Nato.
I could give reasons, but let's face it, It really serves little purpose for the average American at this point.

Not saying we should abandon our allies, That is not what I am saying.

It's just, it's not 1945 anymore. I'm just not convinced this is something the US needs to be as actively involved with that serves the American people's interests.

I'm sure there are countries that genuinely want to be engaged with or actively associated with the United States. I'm not sure they or we need Nato to achieve those goals.

The US has had long standing alliances with many countries. The UK, Canada, much or western hemisphere, Australia , France, Israel in particular. Others also. Nato or no Nato, I'd have to say we have their back.

So from the US's standpoint, do you believe we need Nato, or hell no we'd go to shit in a month, lol? Comments?

Biden rejoined the Paris Peace Accords? That sounds exactly like something Joe would do because that happened 50 years ago to find a way out of Vietnam. Ironically Joe will likely need to do something similar to get us out of this Ukraine disaster.
I know you meant to say Paris Climate Accord, which just like most US recent wars is another way to fleece the US of dollars.

Joe isn't solely to blame for Ukraine . This war and the sanctions that go with it have been on deck for awhile. The State Dept, CIA, Congress, the US war industry basically, did not spend eight years orchestrating resigm change, funding and training the military, sanctioning and basically doing everything possible to provoke a fight with Russia just to turn around and pursue diplomacy and peace.
The US holds all the power and influence to control diplomacy over Ukraine, Russia, NATO and the EU and make sure this war never started. Instead Biden and the rest are sending incredible amounts of money and weapons.

It sounds like Kushner may have exploited his position in the administration for financial gain. I don't know the details but if that's the case it would be on par with hundreds of other politicians and govt officials and employees. And the only way this kind of stuff might ever stop and the govt might ever start working on behalf of the populace is when the so called left and right stop arguing about which side is more corrupt. The bunch of them and the govt agencies are selling us out. Presidents come and go and but the Congress, the Fed, the war industry, all still there fleecing us dry.

Republican voters have been trying to vote out the corruption from the republican party since the tea party movement. I thought maybe we found some common ground with the occupy wall street deal after we got screwed with the so called 2008 financial crisis. Instead the media, politicians, NGOs, and all those that benefit from Govt money that comes from our businesses and our paychecks, or gets borrowed and destroys the value of our money. They have pushed every kind of division possible. War, racism, misogyny, hate, hate crimes, hoax hate crimes, defund the police in cities with the highest crime. Then they turn around and claim the country is divided.
Left to ourselfs we are not divided.
Anyway, I gotta go.

I think everybody here is a good dude except people that think Nazis and Putin are cool. You can say you were screwing with me but pardon me if I don't buy it. I seem to recall you've made that claim before but no one challenged you. Many incorrectly believe Trump secured peace in the Middle East after hearing trade agreements happened between Israel and Dubai and Qatar. But now that I thinking about it, probably another country . Qatar was the only country that if you had an Israeli customs stamp in your passport they wouldn't let you in. So if you wanted to visit Qatar and you'd been to Israel you had to get a new passport.

Back to peace, the boy wonder Kushner had a two part peace plan neither of which had any input from the Palestinians. The peace deals were actually more real estate deals than peace agreements showing just how clueless Kushner was and Trump was for giving Kushner the Middle East, the opioid crisis and some others things he never got done. No surprise the Palestinians passed on Kushner's BS.

And I did mention what I thought Biden has done good but you've yet to comment on the topic so once again you're dealing with whataboutism. If you can't speak to the topic, stay on the sidelines or start your own thread instead of deflecting in mine.

SCR I enjoyed and appreciated your level headed post with one exception. I am sorry but cannot accept your politics as usual rationale for Kushner's 2.5 billion dollar payoff in the wake of Kashoggi's dismemberment especially in view of the Hunter 5 million dollar Ukraine contract and laptop focus. The Democrats are so clueless not to exploit the 2.5 billion dollars of blood money but that's the Democrats for you. Can't fight their way out of wet paper bag.

Well said SCR couldn't agree more. I can't for the life of me understand why people can't see how the media and politicians manipulate the people of America for money.

The masses are numb for a number of reasons so our vision is affected. A friend of mine called it years ago "the system was designed by the rich for the rich" and politics is the tool utilized to divide the masses. Partisan fighting (Non moto prime example) keeps everyone distracted like two kids fighting over the fake steering wheel in a shopping cart.

Comments?

From your post it appears you don't understand what NATO's primary focus is. Your demonstrates to me just how effective pro Russia reporting is that you can talk about pulling out of NATO while saying "not saying we should abandon our allies" and then list non NATO allies. WTH man.

NATO definitely isn't about keeping us from going to shit in a month.

You still could not muster up one single thing after a week of research. I should have never given you a question that had no answer. Kushner is so irrelevant it should not be a topic up for discussion anywhere but a CNN forum. You just came here to stir shit and nobody wants to play your game due to its lack of bearing on anything in anyones lives. Meanwhile the POS ruining our country continues to do so while the media focus is on a couple narcissistic actors battling it out n court.

It was a double-whammy for two of then-President Donald Trump’s biggest patrons, Vladimir Putin and American fossil-fuel billionaires and their industry: the price of oil was too damn low.

Between the pandemic-induced collapse in demand for oil and the price war Saudi Arabia was then fighting with Russia — two of the world’s largest producers — Putin was being pinched badly. And in America, from Pennsylvania to Texas, oil producers were outright losing money on the oil they pumped. Gas prices were at record lows, gutting the profits even of refiners.

So, Trump acted. It seemed inexplicable at the time, but in retrospect (knowing now how tied to Putin he was) it makes perfect sense.

In the second year of his presidency, Trump had blown up the Iran nuclear deal that Obama had a hand in fashioning, letting us all think it was because he was trying to erase Obama’s legacy. But the real and immediate impact of Trump’s decision was to pull almost 3 million barrels of Iranian oil a day off the world market, boosting profits for Russia, Saudi Arabia and the US fossil fuel industry.

But that was 2018 and by 2020 prices were again sagging — and thus about 40 percent of the total revenue/income to Russia’s economy was sagging — as demand dropped because of the pandemic. Saudi Arabia was making the situation worse for Putin, keeping their oil production high to compete with Russia for worldwide market share, particularly in Chinese oil markets, and in retaliation for Russia refusing to go along with price-supporting production cuts.

Oil prices had fallen as low as $15 a barrel because Saudi Arabia had opened their spigots full-on, according to Reuters:

“Despite the agreement to cut a tenth of global production, oil prices continued to fall to historic lows. U.S. oil futures dropped below $0 last week as sellers paid buyers to avoid taking delivery of oil they had no place to store. Brent futures, the global oil benchmark, fell towards $15 per barrel - a level not seen since the 1999 oil price crash – from as high as $70 at the start of the year.”

So Trump took decisive action.

He called up his buddy, Prince Mohammed Bin Salman of Saudi Arabia, and essentially threatened that if MBS didn’t cut production (and thus raise worldwide oil prices, which would help out Putin and US petrobillionaires) the United States would reconsider its seven-decade-long military support for the kingdom.

As Reuters reported on April 30, 2020, in an article titled Special Report: Trump told Saudi: Cut Oil Supply or Lose U.S. Military Support:

“Trump delivered the message to the crown prince 10 days before the announcement of production cuts. The kingdom’s de facto leader was so taken aback by the threat that he ordered his aides out of the room so he could continue the discussion in private, according to a U.S. source who was briefed on the discussion by senior administration officials.”

Oil-drenched Republican Senators Kevin Cramer and Dan Sullivan had drafted legislation to pull US troops out of Saudi Arabia, giving Trump the club he could wield against the Saudis to help out both Putin and the US oil industry that was seeing bankruptcies spread across the country.

As Reuters noted, “Support for the measure was gaining momentum amid Congressional anger over the ill-timed Saudi-Russia oil price war.”

Thus, in the last year of his presidency, Trump oversaw the worldwide cuts in oil production that would lead to today’s prices soaring well past $130 a barrel.

Which brings us to today, with oil prices soaring. When President Biden tried to reach out to our allies, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to ask them to restore the production they’d cut under threat from Trump, both refused to take his call, according to press reports.

Meteor Blades reports at Daily Kos that The Wall Street Journal laid it out:

“The Saudis have signaled that their relationship with Washington has deteriorated under the Biden administration, and they want more support for their intervention in Yemen’s civil war, help with their own civilian nuclear program as Iran’s moves ahead, and legal immunity for Prince Mohammed in the U.S., Saudi officials said. The crown prince faces multiple lawsuits in the U.S., including over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

“The Emiratis share Saudi concerns about the restrained U.S. response to recent missile strikes by Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen against the U.A.E. and Saudi Arabia, officials said. Both governments are also concerned about the revival of the Iran nuclear deal, which doesn’t address other security concerns of theirs and has entered the final stages of negotiations in recent weeks.”

The outcome is predictable. Saudi Arabia and Russia keep oil production tight to keep oil prices and profits high, while President Biden is attacked from every direction in the US for high prices at the pump.

Republican politicians grandstand on the issue and hammer it daily into the news, blaming the increased price of gasoline on a president who’s trying to both get Iranian oil back on the market and increase Saudi production. The high price of gas and diesel, meanwhile, keep jacking up US inflation, giving the GOP another lead pipe to hit Democrats over the head with.

Neither of Biden’s efforts to lower oil prices are working, though, as the result of Trump’s two gutless actions on behalf of his patrons.

The Iranian talks are bogged down (the Iranians can see what happens to a country that gives up its nukes just by turning on the news and looking at Ukraine) and Saudi Arabia wants Biden to come on bended knee and approve of their slaughter in Yemen, something that would be very costly to American moral standing in the world.

The result is more money for Putin’s war machine and the Saudi crown prince, and a significant increase in the chances an oil-industry-friendly Republican Congress will be installed next year and a Putin/Saudi-friendly Republican President will win election in 2024.

Trump may be long out of power, but the impact of his corrupt treachery lives on.

So in other words, one oped saying Trump is the real culprit behind the oil pricing issue? Man, this place needs some real research and education on what is actually happening. The United States BARELY uses Russian oil. It totals 4% of our daily use while Saudi was using crude oil as ammunition against the US to maintain protection as status quo. Trump eliminated this threat which had ZERO to do with Russia. They were simply a benefactor of the decision because they would get a large pie percentage when Saudi no longer had the US by the tits. Trump was furthering US production of oil with fracking etc to make us independent on foreign energy and giving the US jobs and production dollars.

For the life of me I can not understand why people do not see the larger picture and simply rely on others reading opinionated journalists and claim it to be factual. Production numbers, jobs, etc do not lie. As policies do not lie. This was created by the vacuum of the Biden administrations decisions and they continue to place blame elsewhere for every single issue at hand.

If it is all on Biden (gas prices & inflation), why is it the same all over the world?

Every single country is experiencing the exact same thing, because it is a global.

But the cut in Saudi production is what drove the prices up in the first place, and they have not come down since.

Every single country is experiencing the exact same thing, because it is a global.

Think about what you are saying... The European Union uses Russian and Saudi crude oil directly. The US uses Canadian the most, followed by Saudi, then Russian with its total of 4% or 700,000 barrels per day coming here. The Saudis were cutting production because they had massive reserves at that particular time because of heavy production. Trump stated they were pulling away from Saudi oil dependency and boosting the US. Biden has already depleted what we were building in reserves until DAY 1 in office when he shut down the pipeline, eliminated fracking, and slowed production down in the US. So he IMMEDIATELY made the price of oil more costly thanks to the pipeline, supply lower thanks to fracking, and demand higher. Thus price goes up... Factor in Saudi who was already cutting production based on reserves and now you have high demand and low supply. Biden then wanted more production to help cut costs but instead of turning to his own backyard he went to the Saudis.

That asshat from the New York Times "leading progressive author" is just that. Some asshat who hated Trump and will spin shit to make Trump the culprit when things worsted because of the Biden administrations immediate decisions which they were so proud of at the time. You now have an administration who walked back things Trump did to prove a point and it has backfired ten fold.

Inflation was created at first by rising oil prices. Shipments were more expensive coupled with the raising wages and lower output. This is a recipe for disaster, all economics work off of supply and demand in its most basic form. High supply, low demand inversely low supply high demand and thus expensive. Add in the federal reserve printing money at alarming rates trying to "stimulate" the economy due to covid and low output from suppliers and now you have an american dollar that is deflated with further issues.

All of this could have been prevented, and this administration has lied continuously to the American public trying to save face and hoping for a hail mary miracle.

In the end, the Republicans will take control of Congress in November and I really hope they do the right (and difficult) thing for the American people. Work on the budget deficit, infrastructure (not paying lobbyist but actually working on roads, bridges, railways, electrical grids etc) and build back the country. Is this glamorous? Hell no, but it is essential and get off of this bull shit ideology politics that has taken Washington by storm.
