First off, my go to boots are a pair of SG12's and SG10's. So there is no need to give me a safety lecture. Most days it's the 10's because I like the fit better.

That being said does anyone make anymore old school style boots? I'm specifically talking about something like late 80's early 90's Fox Comp2's with the internal quick draw laces, Velcro upper straps and only one buckle. I spend quite a bit of time cutting trail which involves riding the bike but it is absolutely not riding at any kind of pace. An easy on boot that is a little more comfortable walking around the woods would be freaking lovely. I have junk knees and I absolutely hate buckling up boots if I don't have to and I have no interest in riding my bike in hiking boots.

Anyone know of any new boot like that? A BOA closure would be ideal as well.

IMO these have that feel, and are what I use for trail work days:

Looking for something like older Fox Comp boots? Try the newer Fox Comp boots. They’re soft, comfy, cheap, and have an internal drawstring. They do have buckles, but only three. I’m little embarrassed to admit how much I love these boots.

Just having the internal drawstring may be a big help. I don't have calves I have cows so it's a freaking ordeal to buckle boots by myself. A drawstring could get them close.

That being said why don't the higher end boots include a drawstring just for that purpose? My 10's especially take 3 hands to do up. I may have to do a looksee and determine if I can add something like that.

The drawstring on the new Fox Comp only cinches around the ankle area. Keeps your foot from sliding around in the boot.

Back in 2019 the Comp boots only had one buckle and two rubber straps. These were great for casual offroad riding. Seems like that’s exactly what you’re looking for. Maybe get lucky and find a NOS pair somewhere?
