Hey all, about to head out to Southern California for a vacation in mid July. Any places you recommend I check out? I won’t have a bike but would just love to see some of the things Ive seen my whole life on old vhs tapes and dvds. Whether it be shops, test tracks, dunes? I’ll be staying in San Clemente. Thanks!
Pala, so you can check out where they hold 2 nationals
Glen Helen, so you can check out a national track
Elsinore, so you can see where they held 2 nationals during the switch from GH to Pala
Cahuilla, most scenic track in so cal
Perris, Oldest track in Ca.
Pro Circuit, lots of cool bikes on display
TLD, cause it's close to Pro Circuit
Costa Mesa Speedway Saturday night. If they're racing the weekend(s) you're here go. You won't be disappointed it's always a good time.
Toyko Mods is 10 minutes from San Clemente. Might as well check it out since you're so close.
Post when it closer for restaurant ideas in San Clemente. Happy hour / sunset at the Fishermans on the pier should be on the list
Check out Chaparral and/or Bert's Mega Mall for "Yuuuuuuuge" dealerships. (Not as thrilling, now that there's practically no inventory anymore.)
Dunes are pretty far, especially if you don't have a bike. But if you have to see them, head east about 45 minutes from the town of Brawley on highway 78 for Glamis or the same time east on I-8 for Buttercup. You can't miss the sand.
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Have fun 👍
East of poleline, buddy ran out of talent on his excf 350. Those trails in the background..., yummy ! So fun over there
Last time we went to the fire hydrant it was still 2 wheels only on the ridges. Sooner or later a quad will widen the trail, then a SxS, then another one and then it won't take long before it's not a single track anymore
"Pooch" canyon ten years ago, looks like no way a quad would fit through there but the last time we went through there (2020) we came across a side by side stuck in there like a big tampon. They were laughing waiting for their friends in another one to come "Shovel the walls and tow us out" we had to do a U turn. It's still a blast out there but you need to find areas where the golf carts can't go, which isn't easy
