Kx125 build…who is TSR?

Hey everyone. I just bought a 2005 kx125. I noticed on the cylinder it has TSR engraved. The guy I bought it off knew nothing about it. He bought it as is and just rode it. How can I tell if anything has been done to the cylinder/head? The cylinder even looks ‘newer’. I tried attaching a picture but it won’t attach.

This winter I’m going to strip it down to the frame and have it powder coated etc…I’m sending the motor off to Tom Morgan and having him turn it into a kx144 (if it hasn’t had anything done to it already). I’m basically going to turn it into a brand new bike. I love the older 125’s!

I’ll look into that. It could be a Z. I’ll see if I can find some of his work online or maybe reach out to him. I’ve never heard of him.

Ahhh. I’m betting that’s who did work to the motor. I’m from illinois and bought the bike a few hours from his shop from what I just found. Wonder what he did to the motor. I guess there’s really no way to tell though until I tear it down this winter

Pop the head off, measure the bore and take a look at the porting. Could very well already be a 144.

TLR out of Florida Todd does great work and engrave like that.

Zont uses a sticker like this for his work. Same as on my bike.
