Umm, drop me a line, I literally live there. And my oldest videos for several teams in the area, welcome to Parker County.

Made a ton of $$$ in that state for nearly 20 years.
Went on countless epic day long mt bike rides out west of Austin via the greenbelt, and upper greenbelt.
Helotes just outside of San Antonio was another place for all day riding adventures.

Not to mention the first race of the season out on Lajitas.

I was down there for two years and couldn’t wait to get back to NM. Think I’m finally over my New Mexico infatuation. I’ll ship green Chile in!

MTB in around Austin is fun. I’ll have to day trip out there again.

It is like they moved SoCal right in the middle of Texas. I’ve said all along that had I moved to the Ft. Worth area, I’d still be there.

Yep, but the reality is, every farm has a septic tank where all the turds end up. Just just hafta remember to stay away from that area with the tractor or you end up cuttin' ruts and hafta deal with the stinky stuff all your tires and clogged up knives/rock guards on your 489 Haybine.

Left there in late 95, and never looked back.
Last thing I saw was the sun coming up on the Budweiser brewery east of houston as I was heading east.

Miss the mt bike riding.
Miss the old spaceland parachute center, and the twin otter.
Missed the pay scale.

Don't miss the traffic, crime, humidity, and those damn tropical storms and hurricanes.

Austin/ Travis County has always been liberal. Their neighbors, especially Williamson County are the opposite of liberal.

They are only adding more liberals to a liberal area.

seriously.
no ACTUAL Texan gives a shit about Austin. It's this weird little view into everything that the rest of the state hates...just so happens to be our capital.

they have some good live music in town, though. but literally nothing else.

But I can register my truck for $70.00, and don't pay state income taxes.

In the Tennessee co I live in, $60 for a specialty plate.
And almost 10% sales tax on everything you buy.

Doing the math shows we'd be better off with a state income tax, with itemized write offs.
Property taxes are a fraction of what I was paying in Texas for less land than we own now.
