The danger at Chernobyl due to power loss isn't nuclear necessarily. The main danger is a buildup of hydrogen without power to the equipment that normally keeps the levels under dangerous concentrations. If that hydrogen accumulation were to cause an explosion it could damage the "sarcophagus" and then it would be a nuclear problem. Supposedly it would take near 10 days of accumulation without any reduction to reach the lower explosive limit. They should have diesel generators on site to provide back-up power, but who knows what the fuel situation is these days.
I read they have the diesel generators going, but they will only be good for 48 hrs.

Don`t know if it`s been said already, but hundreds of russians are now leaving Russia through Finland everyday.
There is train that still makes two trips per day and it`s almost empty going to St.Petersburg and totally full coming back to Finland.
Media has been interviewing travellers. Mostly middle class people that have a place to go live in other countries.

Aircraft flying near the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad and near Finland’s eastern border with Russia have noticed interference with their GPS signals, according to Finnish authorities.

The interference began soon after Finland’s President Sauli Niinistö met Joe Biden in Washington on Saturday to discuss deepening defense ties between Finland and Nato due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

There was an Oliver Stone documentary called "Ukraine on Fire" that i had just started watching the other day, and now it has been removed from youtube, at least the one i was watching.

Anyone else seen it?

here is another version of it

i feel like ukraine(government) might not be the innocent victim a lot of people want them to be... that said, what putin is doing is terrible and uncalled for and he needs to be punished, but that doesnt make the ukraine government good guys. not to mention their nazi problem.

feel terrible for all the innocent people from both countries that have to go through this, along with all the others in the region affected by it... and everyone else in the world that has to pay the price of this tragedy.

There are biolabs all over the place.

I worked my way through college at a biolab, growing bacteria and creating resistant strains, etc., for scientists with the USDA.

Gentlemen,
please consider the old phrase "The first casualty of War is Truth". As much as I hate the leader of our neighbouring country, all the things are propably not in the way as our media wants us to believe. Propaganda is on another level on either sides and I think it is alarming that it has took only couple of weeks for the public in West to turn on ordinary Russians.
And for the few guys whos having anxiety over this - Go outside, close the TV and internet. Have some fun, ride a bike, or snowmobile or just hike in the woods and do things you enjoy. There is not much you can do about it and Putin will not change his course even if you rip the "Z" off from your keyboard permanently.

I dont think those are the type of biolabs that people are concerned about Russia taking over, do you?

I guess maybe, but are there labs in ukraine working on military grade bio weapons?

I think that almost all biolabs have potential danger inside them.

For example, the scientist that I did most of my work for would grab bacteria from any and every where and culture it to see what sort of properties it might have. The vast majority of them were endemic in our general atmosphere, but some were from decayed organic matter, etc. One of the bacteria that we used the most for our main experiments were initially cultured off wounds found on a cadaver, so the potential for it to be hazardous was certainly there.

We definitely had some bacteria available that was incredibly protected because of the potential hazard to humans, and while it was available it wasn't usually handled by more than just a few people in extremely controlled environments.

It wouldn't have been good to have people simply come in and start releasing any of that stuff out into the public because the effects really weren't fully known.

So I have no doubt that all industrialized nations would likely have biolabs inside their borders for research, but that isn't the same thing as creating bioweapons, nor did the US rep say that.

sure enough...
I found it telling that when asked, she worded it carefully and did not deny it. The fact is, there are rumors about it(which alone dont make them true) but it was only days/week ago it was cast off as outright conspiracy all together.

I may be incorrect because of what ive seen in the past, but i have seen reports years ago that they have a problem... not really my interest so i never really gave it much attention, until recently it has been brought up. I just find it odd that in my country, the "woke" are hell bent on finding nazi's where there arent any... calling anyone they disagree with a nazi. But now, a country that reportedly has an actual nazi presence and a reported nazi mayor of a city and a wing of the military(azov batallion?), those very same people are falling all over themselves to give their support to ukraine, while at the same time calling people in the USA nazi's and saying we need to tear down the system... capitalism = nazi.. etc

like i said, this is not my main interest.. just something i have seen brought up recently and was wondering about.

Artem Semenikhin mayor of Konotop, is he a nazi? he was recently on PBS and had a portrait of Stepan Bandera on the wall behind him... seems to be a problem.

if you google ukraine nazi problem there are many articles/discussions about this leading back for 10 years or more.

look into what the azov battalion...

the fact is, i dont know... i am wondering. As such, above i should have said "their reported nazi problem"

discussion of a war like this needs some nuance... just because a person questions something, doesn't make them a putin supporter.

also, 3% is a lot...

if it were the US, 3% would be nearly 10 million people.

As it is in the US its probably closer to .005% and even that could be an exaggeration.

US warns Russia will possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine or make it seem like the Ukrainians did

He’s gonna make it seem like Zelensky unleashed chemical weapons.

This is why you see the comments and propaganda about "US Biolabs"

Giant red flag here. The risk of CW use is real. “Offering no evidence, Lavrov said Russia had information that the United States was worried about the prospect of losing control over what he described as chemical & biological laboratories in Ukraine”

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russias-lavrov-no-doubt-that-solut…

MOSCOW, March 3 (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday he believed some foreign leaders were preparing for war against Russia and that Moscow would press on with its military operation in Ukraine until "the end".

Lavrov also said Russia had no thoughts of nuclear war.

Offering no evidence to back up his remarks in an interview with state television, a week after Russian invaded Ukraine, he also accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, an ethnic Jew, of presiding over "a society where Nazism is flourishing".

BTW, if your source or your "truth" has been talking about US Biolabs, you've been phished by the Russian hacker farms

Index provider Morningstar will remove Russia securities from its fixed income indexes beginning 31 March and immediately move the country from emerging markets to unclassified, Reuters reports.

Earlier this week, JPMorgan - which runs the most widely used emerging market bond indexes - also said Russia will be excluded from all its fixed income indexes on 31 March.

Index providers FTSE Russell and MSCI said last week they were taking similar steps as deepening sanctions and public pressure isolate Russia’s economy from western investment and trading partners.

Morningstar said its indexes will remove cash and accrued interest from all Russian issuers regardless of payment status, from 9 March for all indexes except the Morningstar Infrastructure Bond Indexes.

Now that Russia has made these false claims, and China has seemingly endorsed this propaganda, we should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them. It’s a clear pattern.

Cry me a river.

Democrats endured 8 years of the GOP blocking everything Obama tried to do then 45 spent his term undoing everything Obama had done including the Global Pandemic Response team in 37 countries including China. During 45's term Democrats also had to endure constant four more years BS.

Now the right whines about how the media treated 45 during his administration and you're belly aching about your treatment in non moto. Do you need a hug?

Took some time but at least we found out wo are the real snowflakes.
