Hey all,

I was thinking about doing an electric water pump mod on one of my bikes.
(KTM 640 which just has an archaic design so it would be a great candidate.)

I started looking around and there are a ton of them to choose from with all
sorts of prices and sizes. Would anyone have a good idea of what a good
model would be for a conversion like this?

Thanks!

If you look at a Prius water pump, it looks similar to the photo I saw of the Honda pump. I have a new one I am not using on an EBike build. I went with a little smaller one for size and cfm requiring less. Sounds like an interesting project.

Bosch PAD 12v is what they are using. Can get them for about 100$
Will have to figure something out on the connector as I don't think its a normal one.
I can't remember if its brushless or not, and if you'll have to use a pwm or voltage controller on it.

They look like the VW or Mercedes water pumps made by Bosch to me.

Given how critical cooling is, I wouldn't go the DIY route. Contact companies like Dick's Racing and 3 Brothers Racing for advice and if you haven't already, join KTM Talk and post your question. Good luck!
