Welp, that was a tad unexpected but it's interesting to see how deep the 250 East field ended up being when compared to the West class. A total of six riders carrying a two digit number didn't even make the 40 man night show in Minneapolis. Kilroy and Kessler were making their Supercross debuts, having earned their two digits number due to their 2021 Pro National points. The other four riders however have a good amount of Supercross experience.

Also, Kyle Bitterman finished second in the Kicker Arenacross series this year but was only able to qualify 63rd while series champ Kyle Peters qualified 12th in Minneapolis.

Kilroy was one of the top amateurs last year and was top 15 outdoors. Like I posted in the qualifying threads, maybe his confidence isn’t there yet with supercross? He’s a good rider.

I know track conditions differ through qualifying but 59th in the 250 class would have qualified for the night show in the 450s.

Good stat find Michael, the East really is stacked compared to the west (several injuries out west made it even more so).

A lot of guys will miss the night show.

It’s going to be rough mentally on a few of these guys. Basically they won’t get a redo on a bad round one until round three. But at the same time, it’s just part of racing.

This clearly shows that paying full points for half a series, is wrong.

There's nothing wrong with awarding full points for the 250 SX class.

The problem is counting them towards earning a national/career number. IMO, they shouldn't have changed that rule.

If the regional titles aren't acknowledged in the record books, why should the points earned in a regional series be counted towards earning a national number?

More practice needed I suspect.

Im a little confused how riders are getting 2 digit numbers now so easy?

I could be wrong, but i swear no one had 2 digits unless you where a top top 10 rider. and a far majority of young kids coming in had 3 digits.

this isn't bad mouthing any rider, genuinely curious.

Hopefully this comment is just a miss understanding.
By 2 digit numbers he is talking about the guys who finished top 100 in the points the year b4 thus getting issued numbers 20-99 the following season.

I'm curious how many of those 2 digit guys that didn't make it got most of their points in 2021 in the 250 East SX series. It was even weaker than the West this year. There were a couple guys getting fairly regular top 10-15s that had barely been making mains before that.
