We just picked up a new bike for my son. I was expecting it to have a 110/90-19 on it, but instead it was a 100 just like a 125. What’s everyone’s thoughts about it?

That is weird because the manual says it should have a 100/90-19 but the same engine in a KTM 250sx gets a 110/90-19 and a gasgas MC250f gets a 110/90-19 and makes 7-8 less hp so it isn't a Maxxis or gasgas thing.

It seems too narrow for a 250 two stroke.

I would want the 110/90-19 for sure.

At least they give you the wider wheel.

It's ALWAYS a good idea to test different things, especially for a younger rider on a 125 or 250F. 100, 110 and 120 are pretty easy to swap and can make a BIG difference to how quickly the bike spins up and turns.

Generally, you'd run a smaller tire in softer conditions and a bigger tire in hard conditions. It is weird that the GG 250F would come with a 100-section tire ... I'd save it for a soft track or at least think of it as an opportunity for him to try something different.

Thanks for the responses. Just to clarify, this is a 2-stroke.

110/90-19 all the way on this......i would think the smaller tire would be squiggly

My 450 and 250f both came with 110s on the rear.

The mc250 manual says it should have a 100/90/19. The 250f gets a 110 per the manual.

I did check the owner’s manual before posting, and I was quite surprised that it said 100/90. We will move that over to the 125 and throw on a 110.
