Don’t understand the hate on ebikes, I got it to have more fun on 2 wheels when I don’t have time to go ride the smoker. Best purchase I’ve made in a while!

I just scored a 2021 Specialized Turbo Kenevo Comp - game changer. I ride out my garage to local trails after work vs. hauling my mx bike to one of only two tracks within 1.5 hours from home.

The Kenevo gave me the most moto-like experience compared to the others I've tried, Trek Rail, two Specialized Turbo Levos and the 2022 Kenevo SL. The downhill geometry of a Scott Gambler was too slack for me. Kenevo's 180 mm travel front and rear, 27.5 tires 2.6" wide, and enduro geometry was the best I found.

Just about every model is sold out with long wait times. I recommend scouring local shops and placing a deposit if necessary. And try or demo as many as possible. I also recommend sticking to local shops because service will be needed when the electronics wear out or break.

I’m 32 and love my ktm 250xc and my new Ibis Ripley AF. So much that I’ve been really debating over whether my current dirtbike will be the last one I purchase. It’s two years old and has a whopping 29hrs on it.

Meanwhile I can ride Mtb with my wife and kid and be home in 2 hrs. The golf course we play and and dozens of miles of awesome mtb trails are on the same road in town. Mtb has been a life saver the last few years because dirt bikes, while I love them, are such a pain lately. Driving hours away all over, packing tons of crap up to go ride and then the maintenance and clean up. Honestly every time I ride dirtbikes I joke with my wife it’s my last time as I spend the next two hours cleaning everything.

I really want a new Ebike And will definitely be my next two wheeled purchase, keep the posts coming.

I've got the orbea as well and love it. I used to ride my hardtail and thought the same thing, who needs an ebike? Then I rode one and had one on order shortly after. its so damn much fun, yes they seem expensive but the nice part of the ebike is its essentially free compared to moto once you own the bike and gear. and personally I actually feel more comfortable on an ebike than a regular bike, a little more planted like we're used to in moto.

I also thought a 160 travel ebike was way overkill for the relatively flat/easy xc trails we have in MN but it turns out those trails are a hell of a lot more fun with the extra speed of an ebike.
