Yes, I did. Its going to need some major frame repair but I think it is worth it. I know you sent the email Olbeast, just didn't want to go into details.... Ya, it is a pretty cool little bike and not in that bad of cosmetic shape I don't think. My original owners manual is actually for THAT bike! Should look nice setting next to the KA, although if and when I find a KA80 I will likely sell it to my friend that wants to start a museum. He will buy it at the drop of a hat! He wants mine BAD!! LOL He has a RUPP and just bought a Chapparal that both have Fuji's. Now I just hafta figure out how to get it HOME!!!!

Sad. Did you find them? Are they near where you keep all your other car manuals like Haynes or Cheltons or something similar?
6/8/2014 8:36pm
Nope. I also have a "childs book" on motorcycles and i cannot find it either. Sad

The KA100 is pictured and described in the book as well as many others of that day. Some rare ones. Sad

Do any of you know what the factory settings are for the jets on the ka100 bikes? I took to carb off one of the other bikes cleaned it and put it on my running bike because the other isn't cleaned yet. And it starts but won't idle. I set them to what I have on the other bike and spent about 3 hrs changing air and fuel and even taking the carb on and off adjusting the jet inside the carb too with no luck

I haven't taken my carb apart yet but on every motorcycle carb I've worked on I remove the jet and the sleeve "unless it is pressed in" and take a old bread or trash tie and pull the paper off and poke out the holes. The jet should be snuged up it is not an adjustment.Remember it is brass and will strip if you apply to much force. There may be a idle/air adjustment on the side of carb.I would have to look at mine to be sure but I think last time I looked at it I saw one.

I do now have the jet in snug and it is all clean and clear. Yea on the outside of the carb are two adjustments and I ad adjusted them a lot with no success. when I get time Ill take the other one apart and count back the half turns to make sure I have them both set same.

The adjustment on the throttle shaft is the idle and the other is idle/air.

Well I got the second carb adjusted ok for now there's still some needed but it idles. The bike that's from isn't getting any spark but the third bike that was wrecked has spark so I need to take the seat of and the tank off. I'll get those pics when I do it then. The people I got the bikes from called and said they found two titles so that was pretty cool and hey are for the bike I'm working on and the runner. How's yours coming along?

Awesome. Yea they had two titles. I went to register it to ride to school because motorcycle parking is cheap and gas too but they wanted a bill of sale too. So I need to contact them again to get a bill of sale signed. It would be an off highway vehicle so only in town but it'd be a good town cruiser. Glad you found another parts motor that'd bc a huge help too

You are VERY lucky to have those titles! I can get one for mine its just a MESS to go through Iowa. Yes, if the lights work they are considered a Dual Purpose bike and street legal.

Did you ever get the yellow kami?

No. Seller was trying to force me to come get "right away" after he told me that there was NO HURRY. I simply cut and pasted all his and my emails back to him showing him what was said and he decided (since he chose to use ebay to sell) that he needed to relax! I may not be able to pick it up until this fall sometime. I will try to get there sooner but will have to work it into the time I have! 450 miles or so each way is a nice little trip!

Been checking this page out for sometime. Got a green KA80 I'm about to start getting running.only missing the following items; battery, headlight, break lights and turn signals. Copies of any wiring would be helpful. I have 4 wires coming out of the motor and have zero clue what they do.

Kami 80 (F480) takes an "NGK B-8S" Spark Plug.

Hey man, was looking for some Mountain Bike parts and this popped up in my search. Funny I had one in 1973 as a kid and we bought it in Colorado from a dealer while visiting CO and was the Green color MX 80 model. I raced it in mini class in Phoenix, AZ for a couple years and XR75's and YZ80's were always faster.  I moved to So Cal for high school and rode it there as well.  I did have to tweak the fork shocks a bit and the rear shock i would say was not the best but overall was a blast to ride. Traded up to Suzuki and Yamaha and sold the Kami to a friend who basically thrashed it, which was a shame as it was in great condition when i sold it. I don't know what happened to it from there but your restored red one is killer. Nice job!
