I still think Prado was carving up the face of the jump to lay down a victory whip, saw JH still charging ( the look on the face) and checked up.he didn’t initiate the whip which would’ve corrected his course and ended up cross jumping. People are mental if they think this was a deliberate cross jump. Especially when the person landing first is in a more dangerous position. I genuinely think it was a racing incident and they simply collided. It could’ve been avoided 5 different ways I’m sure but you can’t say the guy in front can’t take whatever line he wants and you can’t tell JH not to race till the checkers.
That is actually not a dumb take IMO. But Prados history makes it harder for me to think that it has actually the first cause of him going right.

If everyone knows Prado as a dirty cross jumping rider, then why is there no talk of Herlings not checking up. This to me is like a James Harden jumping into a defender. If anyone is going to take the stance that Prado cross jumped on purpose because he is a wild kid that will do that then Herlings should’ve had the race craft and perception to not let himself get cross jumped on the finish line. I see a lot of people picking a scenario and not defending what that means. If you think Prado intentionally cross jumped then you have to support that he’s in front and he gets to choose his line. If you think JH is the best ever and shouldn't be dealing with Prados shit, then you should agree that he could recognize he got beat and try to win the next Moto and go 2-1 for an overall. Or this can just be an accident on both riders accounts, they both payed. Prado more so than JH, and go home.

No rider should have to accomodate the the dirty riding of another.

No one should have to, but in that moment if JH did they wouldn’t have crashed. Pass him and park him or back off. In the moment those are the two options. If Herlings chose to stay in “the danger zone” of Prado that’s his consequence. No one is defending Prados riding. But unless you pass him and put a gap on him it’s on you to deal with the consequences of riding on his ass when he has a reputation.

Total doush move by Prado.

At this level these guys are fully committed to the jump on take off. You can’t just “back it down” on the jump face.

Cross jumping is dangerous and stupid.

Karma is gonna strike Prado if he keeps that up.

Why would Prado purposely cross jump Herlings after the finish line? Yes Prado did cross jump but I think it was not on purpose. When you see the picture above the question is why did Herlings keep it pinned with no chance of passing Prado before the finish? Prado was wrong! Herlings needs to pick his battles more wisely and by looking at the picture he picked the wrong battle.

Why backing off when you are carrying more speed on the last downhill on a 8m wide track with one rider completely on the left and the other completely on the right? Herlings probably would have won it when the run towards the finish line would have been like 25-50m longer. There’s no point of cross jumping at the finish line, like no need to line up for the next corner. So if he did it on purpose, it was a dick move by Prado. If it was not on purpose (like if he lost his balance), I think Prado is the one who should have backed up. However he seems to have a problem with that like we could see few laps earlier and in previous races.

For sure I like Prado’s riding style and his determination not to give up during fights, however he’s crossing the line too often.

Prado admitted on MXGPTV that he purposefully moved right on the face and cross jumped in the French MXGP pre race interview with Lisa Leyland
His reason was that he knew he had won and the track exit is on the right side.

Prado's reasoning during the French GP post race interview with MX Vice is absurd. Him trying to place blame on Herlings for not backing down is pathetic. You race to the line. You don't cross jump whether it's the finish line jump or not. The track exit is on the right just after the jump is another excuse. Insanity, meanwhile he's calling everyone who has something to say about it stupid. Not very good damage control IMO.

Great strategic move by Prado: 14 points scored in the next three motos.
And it could have been way worse...

Listned to it...don't like the way he is talking. He calls people stupid btw who sent him nasty messages about it. Can't blame him on that. But hearing he never blocked anyone but only ride defensive? I think if he don't holeshot that much we don't see him anymore up front. There a three riders who can ride through the pack to the front after a bad start, AC, JH and TG

That doesnt really surprise me considering the outcome. Je didnt get (seriously) injured in this & has one championship contender less with Prado missing points.

If it was the other way around.... That would have gotten ugly
