Fork oil and upgrading spring rate question

Anybody have recommendations for fork oil on a 18 YZ250F? I have about 35hrs or so on the bike and figured it’s time for a fluid change. Also I’m a vet C rider and was wondering if it’s worth it to change the spring rate for a 200lb rider?

5wt oil. I would sure assume the spring rate in the bike from factory is soft for your weight. Try racetech spring rate calculator on their website.

Racetech calculator is not right for stock valving. Call a suspension shop what they recommend with stock valving and order it.

Its not really an upgrade. Is setting the bike up for you so its safe to ride

It's not your skill level, it's your weight.

Right now you suspension is sitting lower in the stroke due to your weight, you may feel harshness due to this.

Personally, I would freshen everything up, shock included. I wouldn't mess with valving yet, the stock valving may work well sprung correctly.

This. Use the correct spring rate for your body weight; valving is more for your speed. I think the stock valving on the SSS fork is amazing for us mortals.

I use the KYB 01M fork oil in my forks.

I spoken with Factory Connection, they said to keep the front fork springs as is, upgrade the rear and go from there.
