He got DSQ'ed after the second moto for cutting the track (and not for his riding behavior).

taking the quickest route back to the pits because his bike wasn't functioning as a bike should and it would have been dangerous to ride on the track

Surely you ride slowly off line to the pits then.

I can’t remember who he was cross jumping in the 1st moto but it happened at least twice. The 2nd moto he cut across Facchetti with caused Facchetti to crash then he cut over on Geerts before one of the bigger jumps.

sorry, i meant to say "paddock" rather than pits

it was the last lap, he'd just gone past the pits before the crash.... if he rode to the pits, he'd have to have gone backwards round the track

he decided that it was safer to ride slowly to the paddock, via the finish line (which was right in the same path), than to try and complete the remaining 75% of the track with a bike that was barely rideable

he was out of the points anyway, so the DQ (and the subsequent sensationalism from some press) was unnecessary, even if it was technically correct. He did cut the track, but not in the way it was later made out to be

At first he was published as 11th, so I guess he crossed the finish line anyway?

Fontanesi sure was shutting the door on the last lap. Lucky they both didn't go down a few times there.

That might have been Wilson Todds' (backwards name indeed ) highest Moto finish - 5th?

Beato had a coming together in a corner whilst well up, then gradually dropped back to 11th / 12th?

Beato turns 23 in January next year, so I think he's out of MX2. Not sure how he'll go retaining a ride with the idiotic ''23 and you're out " rule.

And Evans still riding for HRC next year? - not sure what will happen to him. Injuries really have messed things up for him ( and, as ever, for so many in our sport).

Fast track. Of course, we'll have usual suspects here going on about it being on flat ground, but, you deal with the geography at hand and that you are allowed to use . But, those blocks of Flats a pretty close to the track, so I'm not sure how long it will remain . At least it looks to be a facility that locals can / have been using.

I hope no bails / tuff blocks get clipped and into ACs' line, this GP. TG offered an (unneeded) apology for that, but, I just think the organizers / marshals need to be a bit more attentive .

Bummer for Febvre.

Old AC was going for it, and, nearly got it.

Great racing!
