Farewell Arm Pump-Racer X

Just read this article in Racer X Online. Since it's titled "Farewell Arm Pump," it spiked my interest. The article is in a sense, an advertisement for Arma Blitz. It claims that Arma Blitz uses Beta-Alanine to help increase athletic performance by way of increasing endurance. This isn't 100% accurate. Studies have shown that Beta-Alanine has produced "some" increase in endurance for a short period of time. I'm posting this mostly because the price of Arma Blitz is $65. A hefty price to pay for something that probably will not help anyone that rides a dirtbike. Another indicator that Arma Blitz doesn't work is that Beta-Alanine is NOT on the WADA drug prohibited list. If there were any performance gains to be made from this amino acid it would be on the WADA list. This is just a public service announcement. Do your own research before you clunk down your 65 bucks.

I saw that one yesterday. It’s a native advertisement. Beta-alanine is common inmost pre workout supplements and can be purchased as a standalone supplement Carno-syn. I can’t say whether it does anything for arm pump, but it has proven effects on the vascular system.

As for WADA approval, its omission from the banned substance list doesn’t mean it’s ineffective. Creatine has been proven in a variety of studies to increase ATP in muscles which allows higher loads and recover, thereby allowing greater strength development. Creatine and beta-alanine are both naturally occurring amino acids and are WADA approved.

I will agree that people should do their own research because the cocktail supplements are overpriced. You can buy the individual ingredients at a fraction of the price by foregoing the branded fillers.

I didn't know that creatine was not on that list. That is odd because you are right, creatine does help increase strength. I don't know if it's good for motocross tho because of it's water retention properties.

I have never creatine. Do people who use it talk about hurt stamina?

Personally, I have been taking the maximum "Reccomeneded" daily dosage of Creatine (5G) for a long time, I also consume Beta Alanine through the use of pre workout on a daily basis as well. I can say on the creatine, it doesn't do anything (good or bad) for long lasting endurance in my experience. It does help muscular energy output because of extra water retention in the muscle. For moto athletes who are doing 35 min motos and using all of their electrolyte stores, I would think Creatine would be detrimental to their performance.

As far as beta alanine in the Arma Blitz and its effect, a serving of Blitz only has 1.5g of BA, this is EXTREMELY low. A normal serving of BA in a run of the mill pre workout is 3.2g which some have argued is already under dosed and will not perform its inteded effect. So it is laughable that the Arma product is claiming any real benefit from just this ingredient alone.

I’ve always found that while creatine can increase muscle gains, it’s not the best for Moto. Why? Because the number one thing it does is make you retain fluid. Which causes more lactic acid build up to happen and faster.

It’s a bodybuilder supplement ideal for athletes in football. Not for endurance athletes.

Maybe I don't ride hard enough, but I don't really deal with armpump. I was told 20 years age to wiggle my fingers in the air to rest my hands. I've not really dealt with it after that. On a real rough track or if I've not rode in a while, my hands will hurt or I'll get pumped up. It's normally because I'm holding on to tight with my hands and not enough with my legs.

I’ve been lifting weights regularly for about a year and taking creatine regularly for about a month now. I’ve noticed some pretty big gains in the gym lately, but no hair loss or arm pump/cardio issues on the bike.

In my opinion, it’s all about having strong legs and core, and having a loose comfortable grip on the bike. 25 years old by the way, so prob a little early to worry about hair loss Laughing

Wish Arma would offer Blitz with zero sugar and zero carbs.

Creatine has zero androgenic effects so no need to worry about hair loss man 👍🏻
