"Listen here Valteri, just had a chat with toto and we've formulated a great plan. Get a bad start but not so bad that everyone overtakes you but just bad enough so Lando is in front of you into the first corner, make sure he's on the inside though or the plan will fail. Then rear end him just hard enough so he hits max but not so hard that he could slide the other way and into your team mate, then when you are completely out of control and stuck up the Mclarens exhaust while only have 3 wheels left slide into checo to get both Red Bulls in one accident, got it? Perfect."

Look at that image, you really think a driver could intentionally line up the Red Bull’s with a McLaren from that far back?. Norris could have just as easily turned a bit before he was hit and he would have collected hamilton.
So it could be a big conspiracy, or it could be cold intermediates on a slippery track, with a tail wind, bad visibility etc. no doubt it was a massive screw up from Bottas, but it’s laughable to think that was intentional.

And so the French organization that changed the rules this year to help RBs higher rake concept and gave them a 3 year engine freeze so that they can keep the Honda, is now favoring one English team, to beat another English team. Riiiiggggghhhht
I mean it could be that, or it could be just a big first turn crash.

Let’s see what actual racers and ex racers have said, no one has said bottas did that intentionally, even Verstappen called it a “freak incident”

Overall, what a great race. Cool to see some underdogs up front.

Ocon did a podcast with Tom Clarkson a couple of years ago that was really good.
He seems like a nice dude, so great to see him get a win.

He popped the only guy up the inside, the guy he cares about is at the front and can do what he wants, the rest are pins. Who are they? The guys in the points. Easy to do when your up front.

It seems like every ruling goes in favor of Hamilton and Mercedes Benz team. The 10 second penalty at the British GP was meaningless for causing the crash that put Verstappen into a wall at 51g’s. The penalty was a finding of guilt while the 10 second penalty wasn’t a real punishment when the next competitor was 50 seconds back.

I’m new to paying real attention to this sport and without any fan like allegiances to drivers or team. There’s a real bias for the M-B team and Hamilton from the FIA or whoever sanctions the competition.

So what penalty do you think Hamilton should have received?
Most drivers, ex drivers and professional pundits that I read or heard breakdown the incident thought that incident was mostly a racing incident, and overall agree with the penalty.

Bottas got a 5 place penalty for his screw up last night, which again is inline with several similar incidents.
Do you think he should have got a larger penalty?

Pretty obvious that strolls crash was also planned to take out Leclerc so that there would be one less ferrari for Vettel to deal with.

Good pick up. hard to argue. I think in the heat of the moment the aggrieved party always thinks they got stiffed. I think Hamilton would cry foul if the roles were reversed in Silverstone.

But objective opinions of Leclerc, Ricciardo, Norris, Chandok, Davison, Webber, Jones, Palmer to name a few have all said in recent weeks that it was just the result of 2 very aggressive drivers not giving an inch.

The one thing I will say, Verstappen has bombed it in on Hamilton a lot this year, and hamilton has backed out. So lets reverse the cars. If Verstappen was on the inside, does anyone think he would have done anything different to Hamilton?

Verstappen and co need to stop bitching and get on with it. at the end of the day, Like JT always says on Matthes' podcast, sometimes when you are trying to win a championship you have to pick your battles, and avoid incidents, regardless of who is "in the right"

I am sick of seeing Hamilton win championships, but Verstappen is making it awfully difficult to root for him

It's looking like Qatar and Bahrain (outer ring) will be the replacement venues for Japan and Australia.

Holy cow! Watching the Q1 and Q2…the Belgian F1 track in the middle of the Adrennes Forest is a fantastic course. This will be great race, right?

Not that it needs repeating, but Russell is the real deal, just incredible.

Also good to see Lando is okay, that was horrible.

The race is still being delayed because of the rain/visibility. They did 2 formation laps behind the safety car.

1 hour left and they'll wave the checkered flag, so it's looking like where they started on the grid is where they'll finish.

They stopped the countdown clock and they'll try to get a 1 hour race in.

Announcement coming in about 10 minutes.
