Looking for a 2019 Husky TX300 to buy (prefer the carb model with the newer frame over previous 2017/8 frame or the TPI) around the Northeast area.

Yea, are the production #’s down on this year bike or what, can’t find any. Will probably buy a new 21 and make the best of mapping/porting with it if I can’t find one soon

Why would you need to map or port it? I have a 21 TX and it’s as good as my friends 19 XC and TX. Fork is better than the 19 as well. I get that maybe you want a carb but you are leaving nothing on the table performance wise getting a TPi bike. Most 22 models are pre sold already. My friend just paid $10,200 for a 19 300 XC with 20 hours. People want big money for the final year carb bikes.

The TX and TE 300’s have mild enduro porting and maps developed/suitable for technical applications. I want to use it for deep sand MX and faster off-road applications and prefer the 6th gear, otherwise I’d be buying a TC250.
So I’m thinking porting/head mods would be easier to tune with carb/jetting.

A new TPi with a tune, medium comp head and a pipe is a beast. Trust me. I’m giving nothing up to a ported carbed bike in the least. Guys are getting 7 to 8 hp with a high comp head, pipe, tune and race gas. There might be a little left on the table with a mid to high port but these bikes work man. The partial throttle tuning alone is a huge improvement. Throw some fuel and timing at them and they make big gains. PC pipe alone transforms mid to high without touching anything else on the bike.

I’ve spent time on both fwiw and I’d agree they are close. I’ve yet to ride a tpi that pulls quite as well as a well setup carb bike but no huge difference. I personally prefer the carb option because I can tune it myself, way simpler/more reliable, and the biggie—it’s lighter. Once good user-tuning options are out and they get the weight down below a ‘19 I’ll likely trade up. Til then, the new bike is a slight downgrade from a ‘19 imo.

Silber has a remote tuning option with an editing program and TSP is coming out with theirs as well. JD and Dynojet both have programmers that can control fuel and ignition. Lots of other companies offering tuning as well.
