Valve Seat Removal

Hey everyone as the title states, I tore the bike down to check everything out and found some pitting seats and kw valves. So I figured I would do some delwest and moldstar 90. Which come to find out, they are fairly cheap to have them cut out. But I need to get various measurements to have moldstar get the seats within a workable size. Is there any easy way to get these out? Or is there a specific machine shop that can yank these out? I appreciate any feed back and help!

this is not something you can DIY without having a machine. Send the head to a reputable shop to have the head rebuilt

If I send it off I will still have to wait 5 weeks for the valve seats to be made and be charged significantly more than 21 a seat. Is there not a specific machine shop that can get them removed? Appreciate the help either way.

Most good shops will have seats in stock. Even if you got the seat removed, how are you going to install and do a valve job on the new seat? The most efficient way to remove the old seats is to cut them out.

I was going to use my dremmel...

Lol just kidding. I was going to have them removed so I could measure the actual seat as well as the bore so I could get the info to moldstar. They are currently 5 weeks out for production so once I got them in I was going to send everything off to millennium to Install, cut and seat the del west valves. I think I might try and measure them in the head and just over measure so when they add the interference I should have more than enough material for millennium to work with.

Check out BNR Motorsports in North Lima, Ohio. They do seat replacements as well as most other engine work.

You don't need to have custom seats made. Did you call millenium? They probably already have seats or any other high performance shop for bikes will most likely have them. It seems like you are over complicating the process

They offer the beryllium copper seats, those would probably be the best route since I can’t get a proper measurement. I’ll have to get the moldstar on the next head rebuild. Appreciate the help every one!
