VURB | Pierce Brown Returns to the SX Track

I get what his mechanic is saying, wanting to push his rider. But every time i see a video from gas gas/ TLD, there is a lot of negative from watching Tyler Keefe to this guy. Yes coaches need to be tough, he’s a mechanic not a riding coach. Does he think brown who has been riding and racing all his life doesn’t know what he’s doing wrong? There’s a certain way of talking to your rider to help them not degrade them.

A lot of the comments on that video seem to be focused on the coach/mechanic. Difficult for me to read too much into it but I'd personally take a coach that tells me what I need to hear over one that tells me what I want to hear. Aren't all good coaches paid to be hard arses?
The relationship itself would dictate how the rider takes that input and that's difficult to judge from afar without understanding the dynamics.

Not sure it is the right way ; from my perspective, if there is some tough love, it has to be well balanced, because lots of positivity also helps to build confidence, and in mx/sx, confidence, the mind set, is like in anything competitive one of the most important component to success. If you scratch someone's confidence, especially while he is not already over confident, it can go south quickly. I hope it works out.

No one can judge weather this is the wrong or right approach from this one video.
You would need to know the ins and outs of pierce personality/traits, the relationship he has with this mechanic etc etc to know if this approach is good for him or not.
