Hi all,
My dealer sold me the R6918B-7 spark plug and the manual calls for a R6918B-8 plug. Hence, the plug the dealer sold me will run hotter. What damage or danger am I risking by using this spark plug? I don't want to melt the spark plug and do damage to the engine. My gut tells me to only use #8 rated plugs. However, if I use race fuel (I currently do), which runs cooler, or run a leaner mix (more oil; run 32:1 instead of 40:1) will that counter the extra heat? Or just be safe and return it for a #8 plug?

With race gas and rhe special 7 plug, you might be ok....
But $30 for rhe right plug is cheaper than the repairs
I'd run the #8 plug.
