Really frustrating getting these plastics to line up. Shroud to radiator wasnt even close, had to bend the tabs on the rad a touch. Then gas tank bolt to shroud is a hair off, shroud to airbox is also not perfectly aligned. I got them all on now best i can, its pretty good but not perfect. I think its a combination of having aftermarket tank, radiators, rad braces, plastics, louvers etc and theyre all not perfect fitment so trying to make them all line up together is just ridiculous. Think rads are biggest issue, if anyone has a oem set for sale let me know.

I ordered cycras rad shrouds. If those dont work ill try and trim acerbis and get them to work. Thanks for your input.
The power flow shrouds will not fit with works connection braces, the flow piece hits the brace

Few titanium bits arrived. Front sprocket bolt, seat bolts, and a trick drilled washer for the fuel tank mount. Suspension is getting picked up saturday. Also, right side case cover will be back from cerakote. Can finally finish the motor.

Just picked up my suspension from rg3. Got their diamond kit, kashima coated uppers, hard black ano on shock body, every little piece is brand new. Valves for my weight and riding style obviously. Really top notch work they came out beautiful. Going to powder coat the shock a candy red.

Got the case cover cerakoted and bolted up tonight. Little bit of an issue with water pump shaft, im not sure if i pressed it in the perfect depth. I figured ill putt the rad hose and slowly kick over motor and make sure the shaft gear engages properly.

Depends on where you get it done, my suspension guy sent it to california and he said theyre the most expensive but do good work. For my diamond kit set up from rg3 it was a little over 2,000$ full rebuild, revalve and ano for front and rear. I bet if u just sent the bare fork tubes itd probably be 400-500$ for kashima coat.

I need some help. I filled motor with oil and coolant. Got it running everything seems good. I noticed coolant dripping out of the weep hole. More so than it should i believe, service manual says to check mechanical seal, which i just replaced and pressed in last night. Either or i didnt press this in properly, or what else would cause excessive drainage out of weep hole in the case cover. Also, the light by the kill switch was blinking while running. Im checking out my manual now and cant seem to find anything that tells you what the code is based on the intervals of the light. Any help would be great, thanks.

Did you run it at all before you pulled it apart?

So the code is for tp sensor high voltage, bike starts and revs fine. Dont have suspension mounted so i cant see if it accelerates under load normally. Ill refer to the manual but if anyone has any advice let me know. Thanks

Yes i did, ran good. I also replaced fill wire harness so i doubt theres anything wrong with connectors or broken wire etc.

Like you say, it's probably nothing wrong with that new harness. And it was all fine before you tore it down. Did you take the throttle body apart to clean it at all?

Yes i did. I just dismounted it and cleaned it, i didnt take injector off or anything else really cleaned the tp connector with electrical connector cleaner, blew it out with air. It may be a stored code that i didnt realize previously. Ill see if it wont accelerate under load once i get suspension bolted up. Not sure what else i can do as of now.

So, i pulled case cover, tried to press bearing in deeper and the mechanical seal, wound up putting hairline crack into the cover. Sucks, but not end of world. Ordered new one, shipping straight to trick engineering along with new impeller shaft and associated bearings/seals. Hes going to press them on, cerakote the new case and get it back to me. Should be done in a few weeks. As for tp sensor. Ill troubleshoot that when bike is finished and i can see if its acting up on a quick ride down my street. As for now ill get my suspension bolted up, sag set, graphics on and other odds and ends. Getting close to the end. Thanks for all the help. First time tearing down a bike, went smoother than i hoped so cant complain too much. The search for an 05+ yz125 begins. Going to start my next build this summer. If anyone has any around nj area let me know.

Sorry to hear about your engine case. Sounds like you’re getting it sorted out though 👍

But I got more bad news for you...
If your suspension guy sent your old tubes to California to get "Kashima coating"... You didn't get Kashima coating. You got an anodized "kashima" color coating.

Kashima coating is done in one place and one place only... Japan.

Most likely he sent them to Aluminart Anodizing. Aluminart does excellent work and is known for "Kashcolor" anodizing. That said, "kashcolor" anodizing provides none of the benefits of actual Kashima coating. Namely, the low friction properties.

I certainly hope your suspension guy didn’t charge $500 or more for an anodize job! That is the price ENZO charges for ACTUAL Kashima coated tubes (exchange old non coated tubes for coated tubes).

"Kashima Coat is a proprietary hard anodizing process process invented by the Miyaki Company og Japan. Lubricating molybdenum disulfide is deposited via electrical induction into the billions of micro-pores on the surface of hard-anodized aluminium for better lubrication and less abrasion and wear"

Looks good. Quick question, is the ecu located behind the frame on the lower left side? Sending mine out to tokyo mods.

Yes it's on the left side of the frame. In the picture below it would be #2.

Nihilo carbon master cover, fitment is for a newer 450 but it fits pretty good for any one who wants to get this for an older crf. A longer brake pivot bolt would be nice as i cant fit a nut on the bottom. Nihilos titanium tip that i posted about in the past is also advertised for 18+ crf. So both of these parts will work on 14-17 crfs too.

Got shock mounted and ordered a pretty cool bag, 100$ which i thought was a steal especially for a big that seems to be discontinued. Just a heads up if anyone else is in the market for a bag. Hope to get entire front end buttoned up this weekend. Still waiting on my clutch side case cover that i broke a couple weeks ago.

Got most of the bike finished now. Still waiting for my case cover to be shipped and cerakoted. Still a few small things to do. Also havent ordered exhaust yet havent decided between a sinle Ti FMF or dual Ti yoshi. Really happy how it came out and cant wait for the photoshoot. Id love to win bike of the day in the bike check section of vital.

Bike looks absolutely beautiful dude I've followed this one from the start and you built a lovely machine! I hope you don't mind one small suggestion I may add which is to have your tank decals done in red and carry the Geico logo into it (I just think having the tank red might balance the red/black slightly more evenly). Regardless of what I think it's a gorgeous bike and fair play to you for building it! Cool

Thanks man! Appreciate the kind works. I actually have the graphics that should go on the tank in red with white gieco letters i just elected not to put them on and cover up a beautiful carbon tank.

Got some little stuff done, added some thick vinyl like they use for fork decals to protect the forks from the rubbing zip tie from the cycra stadium plate. Made some plugs for axle and swing arm pivot, kind of stupid but ill see if i like them. Also got my carbon skid plate and fork lug protector on, with some cool ti washers.
