Just to update my previous comment, as it motivated me to shoot an email to TD.

I had a response back in less than 10hrs from Jamie and no issues at all sending the stock ECU in for a reflash.

Going to pull it off the bike and ship it out ASAP.

Bought a 21 crf450. Son said it had unbelievable power, bike felt like it was always going to shoot out from underneath him. No bog.

Had TD remap it. Son said the power is more manageable. Doesn't feel like it is going to shoot out from underneath him anymore

I’m not going to lie, I was leaning towards TD but when I called I got some some very bland generic answers by a guy that sounded like he was inconvenienced by having to help a customer.

I thought it was just me but apparently I’m not alone.

TM was a pain to get someone to talk to but the dude there had zero issues talking to about all the motor questions I threw at him.

‘18 kx450f, which whoever at TD suggested I ditch multiple times for a new bike despite my reasons for specifically choosing that bike. Like it’s not only 2 years old 🤷‍♂️

Idk, I got a bad Pro Circuit vibe from TD but I went from wanting to use them for map stuff to now idk.

Do what you will with that information, that was my experience.
@Yeti831 - Interesting about their opinion of the '18 KXF. Personally, I have both a 17 and a 19 and to me the 17 handles better. It just rails corners whereas the 19 front wanders a bit. I have ridden them back to back and tweaked on the 19 to improve it.

The 19 motor is very noticeably better though. I've been thinking about doing what I can to improve the 17 motor (cheaply) and hadn't thought about an ECU flash.

If I remember the conversation correctly, they didn’t understand why I’d want to “throw a bunch of money” into an “older bike”.

Once she’s done, I’m going to give them another shot because I hear amazing things about their mapping, especially if you pay for dyno time.

If not, there’s other fish in the sea.

I had Twisted do my 19 SXF450 and Tokyo did my son's 19 SXF450. Can't tell any difference other than he has more money in his wallet than I. Both good but Tokyo but less expensive. We sent one to both companies just to test and see if we could tell a difference.

21 KX450

Tokyo is $100 and Twisted is $250.

Anyone have experience with either ?

I will say when I called into Tokyo the guy who I talked was very knowledgeable and whoever answered the phone at Twisted was an idiot.
I had the opposite experience, go figure.

I have a 17 kx 450 and had Tokyo do my ECU to match my PC exhaust. Night and day difference in power, it truly feels like a different bike. I just threw on a 110 rear tire and that made a huge difference fir me in the handling dept.

Two best mods I have made so far besides the obvious ditching of the air fork.

I have not had experience with Twisted Development, have heard really good things about them, so can’t comment.
I have had my 2016 KTM 350sxf, flashed twice by Tokyo Mods, first for the Akrapovic pipe I had, then the next year I was over bought a full FMF system off them and they redid the ECU free of charge,
The 16, is now my Flat Track bike.
I have a 19 350 SXF for MX, took the plunge 2 years ago and bought a Vortex from them once again great service,
Performance is great.
I’m from New Zealand, normally get to California once a year, other than this year.
Every time I visit Tokyo Mods they are friendly, Justin is the man. First time I visited 3 or 4 years ago I introduced myself he said yes I know you from Face Book and Instagram.
Always gives me a free t shirt.
Can’t fault Tokyo Mods.

I sent my Vortex to Chad at XPR Motorsports (based on Kris Keefer's opinion) and I would highly recommend at least giving them a call. Chad talked me through the maps he installed and gave me some advice with fuel and map settings. The bike was much smoother and more responsive than the stock ECU.

I have no experience with Twisted or Tokyo, just saying I'm a very happy customer of XPR.

+1 for Twisted. Stock ECU flashed 18 450SXF. More power everywhere and still smooth and easy to ride. 1 day turnaround.
