So I was doing my daily picking the other day when I picked up a nice little XR75 with some trick shocks and an unknown pipe. After doing some research I figured out it was the exhaust that was used on the Redline Framed XR's back in the day. As proud as I am of the exhaust (even though it needs some repair) I feel like it needs to be on a Redline bike! If anyone out there has one and needs a pipe for it maybe we can do some trading.

Someone here should buy my PK XR frame off Ebay though. Priced right!

What does a guy do for foot pegs on that thing?

It's 400 miles away from me. I'll get pictures next time I'm down there. Always been kept in a garage so there isn't any rust that I remember. Frame is just dull like it needs to be washed.
Well, after three years I finally picked it up.
That's a pretty big rear sprocket you got on that thing.
WOW! That is awesome. I'm jealous. Did it come with an exhaust?
This is the exhaust I use to run and the air box. When I had the stock frame I bought a JWRP exhaust but couldn't get it to fit. Sent it back. Broke my little 12 year old heart that my hero's exhaust wouldn't fit. lol.
I wondered about the exhaust, as it seems like a down pipe has to be custom fitted for those frames. Nothing wrong with a Powroll up pipe with a Skyway silencer, but man those megaphone pipe's have thee sound.

Nice project! The gas tank will be fun. 🤩 They are fun to ride so it will be worth it.
Aww man, why did you have to bring that up? lol. I really hadn't noticed how bad the tank was. I looked at the picture I posted and thought it must be the lighting. The vertical dent was there but all those others,, I went to the garage to check it. Damn. Then latter tonight I was trying to make some more room in the garage. Washed my wife's car and was going to throw some wax on it. While moving my 890 with my back to the cart that had the XR engine on it, I bumped it and knocked the side case off on the ground. Instantly the vision of a crack non replaceable side case went through my mind. I turned around and picked it up. All is well but some strange part was on the ground under it. Can't find it on the parts diagram.
Post a picture of the part.
The frames Newmann had are still in storage I have slowly went through them and sort of separated out all the parts to the frames just in case anyone is looking an XR75 frame.
Tahoeacr the tank is the easy part!
What did your dad have for XR75 frames, I thought he said on page one he had sold his Redline. What do you plan to do with his XR75 stuff?
We’ve been trying to catalog what he all he had but our plan is to keep just a few and sell the rest.
Please keep us posted on what you might be willing to part with. I think most around here would consider it an honor to maybe someday own a piece from your dad's collection, he seemed like a real special guy.
I tried to post a picture two weeks ago but every time I try to add a second picture on my Mac book it drops the whole thread. As soon as I cleaned it up I knew what it was. It's the dang dowel locator for the side case. The question is how the heck did it get in the side case. It's got a few teeth marks from going between the case and the clutch gear. But, not bad enough to be in there when the engine was running. All I can come up with is when my brother took the oil cooler off, he might of pulled the side case off to see where the oil passages/cooler lines plug in and it fell in then. Beets me. Here is a picture I took of the case when I first pulled it off and you can see it at the bottom.
Now I'm trying to decide how I want to rebuild. I probably won't ever sell the bike so I'm thinking of just rebuilding it the way I want. Might go with a red engine. Engine mount bolts could be replaced so I think I will go with Ti. Rims have a lot of flat spots. Aluminum replacements and black hubs is what I'm thinking. I need to find springs for the forks. I ran air forks cause I was a light weight kid and the stock springs were too stiff.
