Sense when does a 2-6 beat a 5-3? Second moto score is the tie breaker.

Since a 2-6 scores 37 points to a 5-3 scoring 36 points. No tie breaker. Only a 1 point difference between 5th and 6th, 2 point difference between 2nd and 3rd. They pay points per moto, not just for overall finish. That's why you can get such big point swings, like what happened with Osborne going 1-1, and Marv and Tomac having inconsistent motos.

I do believe a 2-6 =39 points while 3-5=38 points. That's how.
