Should I repair at a Dealership ?

I need to repair my dirt bike thats been sitting in storage for about a year, engine keeps flooding, Is it worth going to the dealership and paying fees for labor and checkup plus fix ? Its at My Kissimmee Motor Sports in Florida, I've heard good and bad things about the dealership but I heard that the parts service is an ass, What should I do repair my self or dealership ( I'm a newby at dirt bikes)

If you are mechanically inclined and have proper tools.....get the repair manual and give it a shot.

Sounds like you are looking at a carb clean, tank flush and a basic tune up. Labor time .......about 3-4 hours times the shops labor rate.

I don't have the proper tools and I got this used from a old friend, so I dont have the manual.
So I guess I'm gonna have to go to the shop and pay a butt load of money. Lets see the guy said for carb repair its $130 to 180, tune up is $70 to 80 and I dont know what a tank flush is . . .

Motorbutt 5000, with no tools and little knowledge of M/C repair, you should give this guy a call. He sounds like he is willing to help you out, and being a small shop ,he probably will treat you a little better than the big dealerships,

When I worked for a Yamaha/KTM dealership, they would not even take in those off brand bikes for service due to the difficulty of securing parts for them. In many cases, if it's not a major brand of bike, the big four brand bike shops will send you down the road, and you are on your own in finding someone to work on it.

Aedwards07 may save you some headaches, heartbreaks and $$$.

i avoid dealerships personally due to the excessive labor costs, over time from meeting people i can call atleast 4 people to do anything to my bike for usually half the cost, basically there's money to be saved if you can find the people.
